As a certified teacher, I have helped many students increase their scores on ACT Math. I believe pacing and problem solving are the big challenges on the ACT math section. Pacing is tricky because you have to try to as many questions as possible without losing accuracy. In addition, you have to be able to quickly identify ways to solve problems. This is why studying specifically for ACT math is so important, since it requires you to work faster and more strategically than you have to in math class. [more]

I'm a rising second year at the University of California, Santa Barbara majoring in physics. My main experience in tutoring comes from an organization called Citizen Schools, where I worked with low-income students after school to help them reach their full academic potential. As a relatively recent high school graduate, I understand the struggles that students may face and am better poised to help them navigate what can potentially be a turbulent time. Working with other people on proble... [more]

As far as I know, I got one of the highest scores in this section when I took it. I received a score of 34 in this part. I also have the tests I took from these years as practice. I have had a passion for helping students in need ever since my years in high school. This makes this a great opportunity for me. In the past, I have had great success in assisting kids and reinforcing the material taught to them. I hope to continue this trend with this program. My strong suit definitely has to be anything math. I am proficient in any math subject taught in high school up to multivariable calculus. [more]

I started tutoring ACT math in 2009. Since then I have made it a priority to become an expert in all 4 parts of the ACT. The timing, the subject matter, and the best testing practices. I hold ACT prep sessions every Sunday for groups. I also do private appointments. I believe every high school student should have a chance at college and that these standard tests should not hold them back. Hi all, I am a tutor with over 15 years of experience, teaching and tutoring mathematics. I love that ah ha moment when a student gets it. I strongly believe that there is more than one way to get [more]

Hi there. I am the classic example of a teacher who just loves to teach. Although I am new to Wyzant, I have been teaching for many years. I have 26 years' experience in SAT and ACT prep for high school students. I can work with students who only need a little bit of fine tuning, or students who need a full program covering all aspects of the test from A-Z. I pride myself on being skilled at diagnosing exactly what students need to improve their scores. I don't want to waste students' t... [more]

I am a transplant to Visalia after spending 2 wonderful years tutoring amazing students in San Jose. I have over 2,000 hours of tutoring experience in multiple subjects with students from ages 5 through adult. Many of my students had various disabilities, which I enjoyed helping them work through. I have learned that a disability label does not mean that there is a one-size-fits-all solution for all the students with that label; students are individuals with individual struggles and streng... I am a mathematics major with much experience in studying for the ACT/SAT examinations. I noticed that the ACT is more of an introduction based on preparing for the SAT. The ACT is very fast paced, 60 questions in 60 minutes for the mathematics portion. It contains elementary algebra, intermediate algebra, coordinate geometry, plane geometry, and trigonometry, which are all subjects I am an expert on. I am very confident in ACT math, and I strongly believe students should study the ACT first to prepare for the SAT. Whatever you may choose, I can help you prepare for the ACT College Admittance [more]

We can take a book full of ACT Math tests and we will go over the problems in detail until you feel comfortable that you can do 100% of the problems correctly without my help. I will help you understand all the concepts and get well prepared, so you can get high score the first time. My goal is to help my students understand the math concepts, become good in problem solving, get good grades at school or in college, and ace their tests with confidence. If my student struggles with math, I will help him/her to overcome the difficulties and do well. I have a passion for math and teaching, and I [more]
