I have a Bachelor's Degree in Physics and Astronomy from the University of Washington and minor in mathematics (2007). I have taught many students in all levels of mathematics with great success. I have specific experience helping students prepare for the new 2016 and 2017 SAT and ACT exams, in all sections, not just mathematics. I assist the student in the reviewing the main components of the math section of the ACT exam which include: pre algebra subjects, algebra, coordinate plane and solid geometry, trigonometry, imaginary numbers, and probabilities. I review test taking strategies [more]

ACT math is quite straightforward, much like typical school math. It requires knowledge of at least algebra I and geometry, with some algebra II. The student will be shown an overall strategy, then several strategies based on the specific question type and the answers available. For all ACT help, the student must be prepared to take practice tests or portions thereof between sessions with me. Questions missed will be explored and the reasoning behind correct answers explained. The student needs to have a previously unmarked copy of the latest edition of "The Real ACT Prep Guide? containing pra [more]

I've successfully help my students improve their ACT math score by at least 30% in a short period of time. I have ten years of tutoring experience. I've always been told I am good at explaining hard materials into easier and understandable concepts. Parents think that I have good patiences with students. I graduated from University of Washington with an Electrical Engineering degree. I started tutoring my friends and classmates in high school and found the passion in teaching. With having good feedback from the people I tutored, I've developed a stronger teaching skill as years go by. Being [more]

I graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelors in Physics and a minor in Mathematics and have always enjoyed math and knew from a young age that I would end up doing something heavily involved with the subject. Helping others develop their mathematical capabilities, including friends and family, has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. After taking a physics course in my junior year of high school, I also developed a fascination with the way math c... [more]

The mathematics section of the ACT involves a variety of topics. The questions in the ACT are more detailed than the SAT, and require greater intuition. During my academic career, I became involved in many of the common areas of mathematics (algebra, geometry, discrete math, calculus, and all sorts of combinations of the fields). I have the background to breakdown the concepts into their most fundamental parts. I'm John. I obtained a Masters degree in Mathematics at San Francisco State University, and a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics with an emphasis in Computer Science there as well [more]
