I have tutored many students in ACT Math. There is a lot of content to know, so an early start is always preferable. Most of my students were able to raise their scores. Those struggling with elementary math areas were those who had the most difficulty raising their scores. Students who practice on their own in addition to tutoring do the best. I currently tutor several different courses of high school and college math including Geometry, AP Statistics, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, College Algebra and Pre-Calculus. My students have maintained A or B averages throughout the year. I also tutored [more]

Hi, I thought I'd provide some history about why I started tutoring with this website. A good portion of my part-time job income during college came from tutoring for introductory math and economics classes. After college, where I graduated with a Mathematics/Economics major, I started working as an actuary. A lot of my actuarial work included developing complex mathematical models for insurance, then using those models to help companies determine how to invest insurance premiums to mak... [more]

I scored a 32 on the ACT my senior year, with a 34 in math, and having only taken the ACT once previously. Practicing the ACT requires time with the material as well as time with practice test questions so that the student is not only familiar with the content but the format as well. Hello! Thank you for considering my services. Math has been a strong point for me my whole life. I took college calculus as a Junior in high school with no problems. After helping my fellow classmates through my most recent statistics class, I realized there are many very intelligent people who are struggling [more]

I love teaching and was a TA at OSU, where I handled the Statistics class for the undergrad Business program. Through the years my work and general interests have kept me con... [more]

I?m going to let you in on a little secret the administrators don?t want you to know. Obtaining a solid score on the ACT is not all about learning the content. Surprised? What they don?t want you to know is that to ace this test you need a balance of two things; SPEED and FOCUS. I teach students how to use active engagement techniques that boost student performance and reduce the chance for careless errors. Maximizing correct answers leads to substantially higher scores. Imagine, celebrating with your child after they earn that topnotch ACT score and them feeling like sky is the limit. T [more]
