With 9 years of work experience, four years of college education, and tutoring experience on WyzAnt since August of 2010, I feel that I am adequately prepared to tutor in a variety of subjects. I attended a top-ranked engineering school, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, and received my B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering and Biochemistry/Molecular Biology in 2007 with magna cum laude honors. I was later hired as a process engineer at OMNOVA Solutions, Inc., which manufactures specialty ch... [more]

My many years teaching math provides a background to help students prepare for this testing. Teaching and coaching has been a very large part of my life. Since 1978, I have been teaching or coaching students in a variety of subjects and sports. At the age of 58, I still have a passion for the art of teaching and seeing students increase their learning. I believe that if learning is not taking place then teaching is not taking place. For me to be successful, the student must be successful. I have taught students successfully from the fifth grade level up through college. I feel very c... [more]

I am a native of Chattanooga and a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. I have a little over a year of previous tutoring experience in Atlanta during which times I worked middle school, high school, university, and returning-adult students. At the time of my return to Chattanooga most of my students wanted to continue working with me online rather than in-person to continue their math and test-prep tutoring. I hope to provide the same patient and ... [more]

Logan here! I am an alumnus of the University of Tennessee with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering! As such, I have spent the past seven years tutoring primarily high school and undergraduate students in mathematics from algebra to calculus, engineering from kinematics to system dynamics, and thermodynamics to fluids, basic physics, and programming courses. I believe that one of the greatest opportunities in education is to inspire my students provoking a deeper understanding of the material;... [more]

Hi! I'm Michelle, a university student of Mathematics, Music, and Education planning to graduate in May of 2019. I started tutoring mathematics in high school when I realized that I could fit a need in the educational world. My classmates asked me for help outside of class and after we talked about it, they could tackle their work. Most students come to math class already thinking that they will not succeed, and it is just not true. Math at its essence is just like a beautiful language waiti... [more]

For as long as I can remember, I've wanted to be teacher. I've always been good at Math and would often tutor my friends for free when I was younger. When I went to college I decided to pursue a degree in Mathematics because it was what I liked to do and kept tutoring throughout college. In graduate school I tutored less, but once I graduated I began working full time as a college professor--I simply can't imagine doing anything else. I still tutor high school students outside of my j... [more]

The American College Test (ACT) and SAT are the two standardized tests accepted by most colleges and universities for admissions purposes. The ACT tends to be more popular in the South and Midwest. The exam has a multiple choice section covering math, English, reading, and science. It also has an optional writing test in which you plan and write a short essay. I have taught math for the past forty years. I have a love for teaching math to students and adults desiring to learn the concepts of math. I have taught college students and adults, high school students, middle school students, as well [more]
