Hello, my name is Joe F, and I am a Senior at USC. While I am a Sports Management major, I am passionate about math, a subject in which I have always excelled. I parlayed this passion into tutoring, something I have done since I was 15. As a freshman, I was a Supplemental Instruction leader at USC, which is a tutor position that involves helping large classes. I am now looking for students to help one-on-one, and I am incredibly flexible in doing so. I can work anytime throughout the day. I a... [more]

Hi, I'm Greg. I began teaching chemistry and biology at the secondary school level after graduation from The Citadel in 1974. Over the years I have taught various science courses including general science, physics, and organic chemistry. My students frequently come back after graduation to tell me they're convinced my teaching helped them to do well in these subjects on the college level, when many of their classmates were struggling. In 1991, I obtained a Master's in Chemistry from DePaul Un... [more]

The math in the ACT is not difficult. It can be explained in a session or two. It is mostly elementary algebra and geometry. The primary problem for most students is reading the questions and understanding what is asked! I find it is rather easy to comprehend the word problems and can help the student to master that. I am a retired Chemical Engineer and have served in the chemical processing industries for my entire career. I have a BChE degree (Cum Laude) from U of F and an MS degree from the Univ. of Tenn. I have been tutoring students from the 8th grade through college in Mathematics and [more]

I know that one way to get into a good college is to score well on the ACT. What is great about ACT Math is that the content covered on the test only goes up to elementary trigonometry. This means that refreshing the material you thought you remembered from years ago and strengthening the algebra, geometry, and trig that you might have difficulties with now will result in a higher overall test score. I have teaching and tutoring experience, plus I love math. There's no need to be afraid of standardized testing when you know what to expect and you are prepared for it. Let's get to work! [more]
