The Math section of the ACT Exam is extremely complex, as it involves material from multiple different math subject areas. I focus my ACT Math lessons on two things: 1) completing the problems on the page and ensuring an understanding of necessary steps to complete for each type of problem. 2) rebuilding essential fundamental skills that make up the problems, ensuring students have all necessary skill sets to execute more complicated problems Developing fundamental and advanced skill sets for execution of the ACT leads to improved test scores, as well as a more comprehensive understanding [more]

Throughout the week, I meet with dozens of 1st-2nd grade students who need extra reading practice and support, both in and after school. Before working with Dallas ISD, I taught English as a Foreign Language in Nepal, and also w... [more]

I taught a specialized ACT Math preparation course in Colorado at an at-risk high school during spring of the 2013 school year. I have extensive knowledge of not only the topics covered on the exam, but also specific test taking skills for the ACT. With a tight window of needing to answer one question per minute to finish the exam, students must learn how to read the questions and take shortcuts to solve long, tricky problems. Hello! My name is Max, and I am a very experienced math tutor looking to help anybody who seems to be running into a mental wall against math. Mathematics can seem to be [more]

Dear prospective student, Solving the problems is just half of the objective of a tutoring session. With the ability to do that, you can solve similar problems on your quizzes, lab reports, tests, exams (SAT, SAT 2). If you have problems in Biology, General Chemistry, General Physics, Algebra, Precalculus, Calculus I and II, I could be a resource for you. G... [more]

A little about me: I've been tutoring students in math since the age of 15 (I'm 28 years old). I have my teaching certification in math for grades 6-12. I worked at Texas Instruments for the past 4 years and I'm really passionate about explaining the thinking process/theory behind math concepts and not just steps to solve a problem. I love 1:1 tutoring more than classroom teaching because I get to tailor lesson plans to specifically fit the needs, interests, and learning style of ea... [more]
