I have helped hundreds of students prepare for the ACT. In addition to answering specific questions, I support students as they fill in missing information and build confidence. I believe that I can help every student master math concepts. I have 30 years of experience in math education and have worked with students of all abilities. My name is Britt Kassel and I studied Mathematics and Education at Michigan State University. I moved to Denver in the Winter of 2014 and taught middle school math through 2015. I have always had a great appreciation for learning and teaching. My current role as a postdoctoral researcher involves mentoring a lot of new students and introducing them to the concepts and experiments we use in our lab. I have significant experience as a teacher and mentor, but also as a learner, so I am very conscientious of how much a student can handle at one time, and how to take different approaches to tackle a problem. There is nothing I love more than helping someone to understand ... [more]

My students typically do very well on the Math section and the ACT test overall with score increases ranging from 2 points to 6 points. My highest scoring students have received a 35 on the ACT. I use a very systematic approach to the Math section of the test: a thorough review of all math concepts covered on the test (as needed), personalized test-taking strategies, time management and pacing strategies, test-taking anxiety management. My students have gone on to universities of their choice including Harvard, Princeton, Berkeley and Stanford. I tutor all sections of the ACT & SAT. [more]

To help students in the ACT Math section I help strengthen fundamental math skills needed for the exam and teach mental math strategies to solve problems more quickly during the exam. I have been working helping students with ACT prep the past couple years. My background as a scientist and experience with the MCAT and GRE allow me to teach a variety of strategies to individualize my tutoring with students. I have been tutoring since 2009 in a variety of subjects, from Greek history to Organic Chemistry, I have worked with a diverse range of students. I have a BA in Chemistry from Kalamazoo C [more]
