My name is Anh. I'm currently a high school Math teacher at a public high school. I graduated from Sacramento State University with honor from their most difficult Bachelor of Art Math program. I also finish my teaching credential program at Sac State. Being a bilingual person, who benefits from the best of both countries (America and Vietnam) education, I know what is good and bad in both systems, from which, I learn how to teach and transfer my knowledge in the most effective way. Teaching ... [more]

I was a Mathematics minor at Vassar College. I scored a 35 on the ACT math section, a 780 on the SAT subject test for Mathematics 1, a 750 on the SAT subject test for Mathematics 2, and a 5 on the AP AB calculus exam. Throughout undergraduate college, I took multivariable calculus, linear algebra, number theory and I was the homework grader for these math courses. Lastly, I have tutored friends and family for ACT math and took multiple ACT exams to get a greater understanding of the material. I graduated from Vassar College in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in Biology and a m [more]

ACT math section is a lot like precalculus. There is a mix of geometry, trigonometry, and algebra. I know some tricks to get through some questions quicker, giving you more time to focus on the problems that take a bit more time. Hi. I've been a tutor for more than 15 years. I'm good at solving problems and explaining my methodology to students. I'm easy going and friendly, making the sessions much more productive than with someone who lectures at you. I love math and science, and that comes through in my work as well. I have a PhD in chemistry, so I can help with any and all levels of [more]

With me you can learn to master the basics, then b... [more]

Hi! My name is Val and I am a student at Sacramento State University. I am currently pursuing my certification to become a teacher. I began tutoring math when I was twelve and have always loved tutoring and teaching others. I love working with children and teenagers and I have also spent the last few years tutoring college students! I experienced ADHD as a child and I feel that this 'weakness' is what has made me such a strong tutor. Because of this, I am very patient and I have a knack for... [more]

Perfect score on ACT Math, consistent involvement with mathematical problem solving I have been tutoring math for over five years, most recently as a tutor for Cal Poly's math department. My favorite part of any tutoring session is the buildup to the "Aha!" moment. I believe that building up to that moment is the most important, as it represents the learning process. If a student excels in that buildup process, that student excels in learning anything. About me: In 1st grade, I found a curiosity for math and took it all the way to my graduation from Cal Poly, where I studie... [more]

The ACT Math test covers math generally learned by the end of 11th grade which includes Algebra 1&2, geometry, and trigonometry. I have taken courses up through 2 years of calculus in college and have used math included in the ACT Math test in my chemistry career and during carpentry repair jobs around my house including staircases on a herring bone pattern deck. I will try to make the memorization of formulas and step-wise procedures for solving the math problems on the test easier by using step lists, giving illustrations, and solving example problems. I am an experienced teacher at both the secondary and college level. I have 30+ years of teaching experience, having taught at high schools, colleges, and universities. I have a PhD in Astrophysics. I enjoy teaching tremendously and excel at one-on-one interactions with students, helping them to learn the underlying principles so that they will develop and possess the ability to tackle problems themselves. Having pursued and obtained my PhD in Astrophysics, I had to be proficient at mathem... [more]

Hello, my name is Steve, and my main goal is your success! When my students don't succeed, then I do not. I am an experienced tutor with several years of tutoring experience. I prefer to take a individualized approach whereby on our first meeting I try to assess what each student is having difficulty with and how they learn. From there I cater my tutoring to that individual student's needs. I encourage my students to be active learners giving many examples that guide the student through solvi... [more]
