Over the years of ACT math tutoring, I have developed my own test taking strategies along with math notes, worksheets, and lesson plans. By the end of our sessions, students will have reviewed every math concept that could be tested - eliminating stress! I recently had a student score a 36 on the math section and many others score in the 30s. My desire to learn and teach has remained constant over the years. I find teaching to be one of the most rewarding parts of my life, and I love to see my students excel and feel confident in their abilities! I know that my extensive teaching background an [more]

I am an engineer with a company near Fort Collins and a former middle school math teacher with the Humboldt Unified School District. I am constantly working to learn new teaching methods and techniques. I started tutoring when I was 16 years old helping my younger brother learn algebra. While a student at Embry-Riddle, I continued tutoring in Calculus and Physics. I love seeing the light bulb moments when a student comprehends a subject that they thought would be impossible to grasp. My tea... [more]

I have a large base of subjects for which I am qualified to assist in. My motto as a tutor is "to be able to put myself out of business". My style is to empower the student to become self-sufficient and confident in their ow... [more]

I have a bachelors degree in chemistry from a small school in Arkansas, though I took organic chemistry for majors at our own CSU! I love chemistry, am a nerd through and through. During my studies, I tutored in organic chemistry, as well as doing TA work for a chemistry class. Additionally, I've had seven internships in organic, analytical, polymer, and forensic chemistry, the most recent of which were in Germany! All that required a bit of technical writing, and I enjoy creative languag... [more]

I have tutored in ACT Math and Verbal for the last 5 years, bringing my students' composite scores up by an average of 4 points. I mainly use Summit's program, which is the only program out so far with the latest ACT changes. My main approach, aside from reviewing the material and the test, is to find your particular strengths and weaknesses so we can help you take the test to the best of your ability. I want you to go into the test with confidence and armed with strategies and knowledge! Because I am new to Wyzant, I don't have any student feedback posted, but I can provide comments from [more]

I am a Ph.D student in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Colorado State University (CSU) currently. Before coming to CSU, I got my bachelor's degree at a famous university in China that specially cultivates middle school and high school teachers. My major was mathematics, and I got a teacher's certificate in China. I tutored several undergraduates from CSU last year. I can teach all of the math covered in middle school and high school as well as linear algebra, calculus, and probability ... [more]

The first time I took the ACT, I got a 34 on the Math section. The second time I got a 35. Given the overall score of 35 and the consistently high Math grades, I have been able to successfully help many students improve their ACT scores for 6 years. With experience tutoring all age groups and learning styles, I can help students become more comfortable and prepared for Mathematics classes at the middle school to undergraduate levels. I also prepare students for ACT or GRE testing, covering topics and test-taking skills. I like to help take the stress out of these testing experiences. I've [more]
