I have my own material and welcome other material from the student also. I like to work a lot of questions pinpointing and alleviating weakness and finding time saving strategies. I hold two master's degrees -- one in applied mathematics, one in physics. I started teaching math in 1999. While many of the intervening years saw me as a part-time adjunct instructor of mathematics, I did enjoy a full-time appointment to the math faculty of Alabama A&M University [more]

The math portion of the ACT consists of mainly of word problems, algebra, geometry, probability, statistics and logic. There are 60 questions to be answered in 60 minutes. I review practice tests with students and help them learn to solve the math problems in an accurate, efficient and confident manner. I go over the various concepts and skills needed for each type of problem and focus on the areas where the student is having the most difficulty. Tutoring and practice will greatly improve your score on this section of the ACT and I can help you with that. [more]
