I enjoy teaching and working with children. While I believe that all children can learn, they do so in their own ways and at their own pace. It is the tutor?s responsibility to ensure that the student(s) understand the material. It is important to show students how one idea builds on the last. I will help your child learn the material in his/her own way. I consider myself to be patient, non-judgmental, and knowledgeable of the subject matter. I truly believe all children can meet their potent... [more]

When I took the ACT in high school I did very well on the math part. I'm really good at fixing common mistakes that students make on the ACT's. There are a lot of tricks that the ACT tests on that I could help clear up for students. I've been tutoring for a little over 2 years since I was laid off from my job as a radio frequency engineer. I enjoy tutoring high school students on a weekly basis the most. I love seeing my students make dramatic improvements. I'm extremely patient and calming. I first took the ACT as a junior in high school and scored a 30 on the math section. As a tutor in college, I led workshops on tests like the SAT and ACT to help students understand not only what the test looked for, but the best overall approach. I've kept up with changes in the makeup of the test, and am more than willing to answer questions that students may have. That teacher that you can't quite understand? The book that doesn't tell you enough of what you need to solve a problem? That's not me. I've been there. Late nights, coffee, office hours, the works. I was a student in the math pro [more]

Including, but not limited to, camping, hiking, playing with my dog, hanging out with friends and playing board games. Yet, all of these activities pale in comparison to my greatest achi... [more]

I've been a private tutor for over 10 years. As an undergraduate at University of Central Florida (GO KNIGHTS!), I worked part-time as a tutor in the Math Dept.'s Math Lab. There I learned those techniques most effective to bring a student along further than they'd even thought possible. I gained from that time an appreciation for educating others, and sharing with them the joy that comes with understanding new concepts and widening one's perspective. I offer experience that can onl... [more]
