When I took the ACT in high school I did very well on the math part. I'm really good at fixing common mistakes that students make on the ACT's. There are a lot of tricks that the ACT tests on that I could help clear up for students. I've been tutoring for a little over 2 years since I was laid off from my job as a radio frequency engineer. I enjoy tutoring high school students on a weekly basis the most. I love seeing my students make dramatic improvements. I'm extremely patient and calming. I don't mind explaining basic math if a student is struggling with it. I can explain each problem in d [more]

I first took the ACT as a junior in high school and scored a 30 on the math section. As a tutor in college, I led workshops on tests like the SAT and ACT to help students understand not only what the test looked for, but the best overall approach. I've kept up with changes in the makeup of the test, and am more than willing to answer questions that students may have. That teacher that you can't quite understand? The book that doesn't tell you enough of what you need to solve a problem? That's not me. I've been there. Late nights, coffee, office hours, the works. I was a student in the math pro [more]

Hello. My name is Sean. I'm a college student currently working towards a future in biomedical engineering, but for the moment, I'm just an undergrad trying to earn his place in the graduate world. I have a very relaxed personality which I have always found makes tedious things more enjoyable for others, but I always make it a point to conduct myself professionally. I think learning should generally be an enjoyable experience and I'd be glad to help make it so for you or anyone you know tha... [more]

I recently retired from a 38 year career in Education, both public and private. During this time, I served as both a Teacher and Administrator. Most recently my assignment was teaching at Sandalwood High School. The classes assigned to me included Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, and Math for College Readiness. I found my time in the classroom to be very rewarding and my students showed gains in all subject areas. My tutoring experience has been predominantly outside my assigned school. I enjoy th... I've been a private tutor for over 10 years. As an undergraduate at University of Central Florida (GO KNIGHTS!), I worked part-time as a tutor in the Math Dept.'s Math Lab. There I learned those techniques most effective to bring a student along further than they'd even thought possible. I gained from that time an appreciation for educating others, and sharing with them the joy that comes with understanding new concepts and widening one's perspective. I offer experience that can onl... [more]
