I've helped many students succeed on the ACT Math section. At Harvard, I also studied with Howard Gardner and Jon Ratey, two of the world's most renowned investigators of learning disabilities and learning strategies. I have been tutoring for fifteen years, with particular skillfulness in readying students for the PSAT, SAT, ACT and GRE. I've worked with a wide range of students, from the elementary school level to graduate school level, and am especially proud of having helped many students earn scholarship offers to the high schools and colleges of their choice. I received my academic tra [more]

This is one of my specialties. I'm good at helping students get comfortable with the content areas where they feel a little shaky, because confidence is one of the most important issues in taking the test. But my greatest strength is in helping them learn a half-dozen short-cuts to getting answers quickly and learning which questions to skip the first time through. Finally, there are 8 or 10 things they need to look for throughout the test. When they spot one, it's a sure short-cut to the right answer. I've had students jump from a 19 to a 27 and a 24 to a 30 after 8 or 10 sessions. [more]

I have been helping students prepare for the ACT Math section for the past 10 years. I am an engineer with a Lean Sigma Master Black Belt certification, who has been tutoring elementary, middle, high school and college students for the past 10 years. In addition, I have been teaching physics and math at IUS and Ivy Tech for the past 8 years, and teaching leadership skills in the business world for the past 10 years. I see myself not only as a tutor, but as a role model and mentor for all of my students. This year, two of my students graduated from high school, and I starte... [more]

On my last taking of the ACT I received a 34 composite score and a 34 in Math. Additionally, I am a math major at Bellarmine University. I can help the student practice his or her math skills so that he or she can effectively travel the gauntlet of ACT math problems quickly and accurately. I just graduated from Bellarmine University Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science. During my four years there I have tutored countless students both through Wyzant and independently. My experience is primarily in Mathematics, and I h [more]

I am an expert in all topics of math covered on the ACT. As a teacher, I regularly had junior level classes and we would do full ACT review sessions, which the students claimed helped them enormously. I am a former math teacher and an expert in all levels of mathematics through AP Calculus. I have a Master's degree (M.A.T. in Secondary Mathematics) from the University of Louisville. I worked for 11 years teaching high school mathematics to a broad range of students, from "At Risk" students struggling with Algebra 1, to AP Calculus students preparing for studies in college level mathematics. Hey, I'm Nico! I'm currently a student at Princeton, studying physics, and will graduate in 2021 (First-year as of Spring 2018). I really love tutoring because I can never really get a good grasp of something unless I can explain it to someone else. Tutoring obviously helps a lot with that! Physics and Math are particularly notorious for being difficult subjects, and in my opinion, not because there is something inherently difficult about them, but that they are just very difficult subjects t... I taught an ACT study group successfully and I've taught Algebra, trigonometry, and some Geometry. I am proficient in test-taking strategies for time-bound assessments. I am a certified high school math teacher in Indiana. I love to work one-on-one with students to understand challenging concepts and to improve students' confidence in math skills. I am currently tutoring only for the mathematics portion of the ACT standardized test. I have prepared an in-depth 6 week program to study for the ACT. This program includes free tests to practice, personalized time for one-on-one explanations and di [more]
