I have taught mostly juniors in high school (the main population to take the ACT) since 2006 and have tutored students students in the test since then as well. I also have experience tutoring the levels of math that are covered on the ACT, so can work on both content and strategies. I am a high school chemistry and French teacher with twelve years experience (all levels of first year chemistry and AP Chemistry and French I and II). My AP students have a 91% pass rate (national average is around 52%) and an average score of 4.2. In the past I have also taught anatomy & physiology and biology a [more]

This is one of my specialties. I'm good at helping students get comfortable with the content areas where they feel a little shaky, because confidence is one of the most important issues in taking the test. But my greatest strength is in helping them learn a half-dozen short-cuts to getting answers quickly and learning which questions to skip the first time through. Finally, there are 8 or 10 things they need to look for throughout the test. When they spot one, it's a sure short-cut to the right answer. I've had students jump from a 19 to a 27 and a 24 to a 30 after 8 or 10 sessions. [more]

I am an expert in all topics of math covered on the ACT. As a teacher, I regularly had junior level classes and we would do full ACT review sessions, which the students claimed helped them enormously. I am a former math teacher and an expert in all levels of mathematics through AP Calculus. I have a Master's degree (M.A.T. in Secondary Mathematics) from the University of Louisville. I worked for 11 years teaching high school mathematics to a broad range of students, from "At Risk" students struggling with Algebra 1, to AP Calculus students preparing for studies in college level mathematics. I have been helping students prepare for the ACT Math section for the past 10 years. I am an engineer with a Lean Sigma Master Black Belt certification, who has been tutoring elementary, middle, high school and college students for the past 10 years. In addition, I have been teaching physics and math at IUS and Ivy Tech for the past 8 years, and teaching leadership skills in the business world for the past 10 years. I see myself not only as a tutor, but as a role model and mentor for all of my students. This year, two of my students graduated from high school, and I starte... [more]

I've helped many students succeed on the ACT Math section. At Harvard, I also studied with Howard Gardner and Jon Ratey, two of the world's most renowned investigators of learning disabilities and learning strategies. I have been tutoring for fifteen years, with particular skillfulness in readying students for the PSAT, SAT, ACT and GRE. I've worked with a wide range of students, from the elementary school level to graduate school level, and am especially proud of having helped many students earn scholarship offers to the high schools and colleges of their choice. I received my academic tra [more]

Hey there! I'm Evan and I can't wait to start working with you! I have been tutoring in Algebra and Geometry off and on since 2007, initially for friends and family who needed help and eventually progressing to paid tutoring after I started college. I'm a graduate of the University of Louisville's Speed School of Engineering, where I took a wide range of mathematics courses, and am currently finishing my Master's of Engineering degree there. I've always had a knack for mathematics, exce... [more]

I taught math in JCPS (duPont Manual HS, Fern Creek HS, Valley HS) for four years and have taught full-time at Sullivan College of Technology and Design for the past two years. I have found patience and breaking concepts into small step-by-step pieces as the keys to my success. From basic algebra through differential calculus, I find my passion for math rooted in the real-world applications it defines. I have tutored privately for the last six years and really enjoy the student-driven pa... [more]

I am a knowledgeable person. I have experiences in school work in almost all areas of science, physics, chemistry and mathematics. I like hard questions, I like regular questions too. I have a Bachelor of science , two master degrees, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree. All are in science, but I did learn a lot in mathematics and physics. The chemistry I learned is in physical chemistry, on particular computational chemistry. I did a lot on computer programming. I can do molecular dynamics cal... [more]

I graduated with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering with High Honors Distinction from the J.B. Speed School of Engineering, University of Louisville in 2014. I was a teaching aide for two semesters for a differential-equations based fluid mechanics class, where I would provide additional instruction lessons for groups of 3-5 students who were struggling with the complex material. I also tutored high school and college freshman from my church, the former in Algebra 1/2 and the latter in 1st ye... [more]

I am a registered nurse with over 35 years of clinical nursing experience. I also have an MBA degree from the University of Louisville, with a concentration in Accounting.
