Math and physics are both complex subjects that are built upon many years of scientists and mathematicians struggling with ideas. And in school, students are asked to tackle the same problems that faced Isaac Newton, Einstein, and others. They're not easy subjects and don't come easily to many people. In fact, they require many hours of practice and thought even for the people that are 'good' at them. And you may very well feel like it doesn't come naturally to you. Often the material in... I have helped over 300 students prepare for their SAT/ACT mathematics tests. My goal is to enable the student to achieve better scores by learning the underlying principles which the testing emphasizes. Test taking strategies are important but thorough understanding of the math principles is imperative for solid improvement. I have tutored students in mathematics for over 30 Years. My subject areas include algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and statistics. The majority of my tutoring has involved high school students seeking to improve their knowledge base and college testing score [more]

I will become the California high school math teaching certification holder several months from now. By being in the field of math and physics for more than one decade, I have been very familiar with the ACT math topics (i.e., the Pre-Algebra, Elementary Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, Coordinate Geometry, Plane Geometry, Trigonometry, etc). My teaching facilitates the test success of my previous ACT math students. They have been more willing to learn math after finding joys in my ACT math test prep classes. [more]

I am a graduate student in Statistics at San Jose State University, and am currently an adjunct math instructor at Cabrillo College. I have extensive experience tutoring math ranging from from high school pre-algebra, all the way through junior college level differential equations; as well as experience tutoring economics, computer science, and physics. I specialize in statistics and calculus.... [more]

I earned my Multiple Subject credential, along with my Supplemental Authorization Math Credential in the Fall of 2014. As a credential candidate, I was enrolled in all the required courses and completed my student teaching assignments in a Kindergarten classroom at Landmark Elementary in the Pajaro Unified School District and in the Monterey Peninsula School district in a 5th grade classroom. The Teacher Credential program at California State University, Monterey Bay prepared me to work... [more]

I was trained as an ACT tutor by a large test preparation company and I've completed over 200 hours of ACT tutoring. My practice test score on the math section was in the top 1%. I have extensive experience as a tutor and teacher. I prefer tutoring because I find that it works better for focusing on the needs of the student. Nevertheless, I recently worked as a secondary school teacher for a local high school district. The knowledge I acquired in my fields required years of intense studies. I learn and tutor concepts and fundamentals, not quick memorization or speedy solutions. This approach [more]
