I have a masters in mathematics and always enjoy doing and learning more math. I also enjoy tutoring students in mathematics. My experience began as a high school math tutor for geometry and algebra where I tutored students one-on-one during their math classes. At California State University, Fullerton , I was a supplemental instructor for calculus. I led a workshop where I clarified concepts that students learned in class as well as gave students one-on-one help. Later, I became a lectur... [more]

In addition, I have done private tutoring, homebound instruction, and have also worked for a private tutoring company in multiple subject areas within the mathematics curriculum, including tutoring for the ACT's and SAT's. I have always loved math, and I am so happy that I get to teach it. I've been teaching in Pennsylvania since 2000 at a variety of levels and settings. I have worked with students who struggle as well as those who excel and need to be challenged at their own level. I feel that the variety of teaching experiences that I have make me a versatile and dynamic educator. My tutoring experience, beyond the classroom, includes private tutoring as well as instruction to students who, for health o... [more]

I have been on many journeys throughout my life and have tons of different experiences; ski instructor, varsity football, lifeguard, home health aide, little league announcer, treasurer, etc,. One of these led me to be a student at Penn State University. While I was there I changed majors and bounced around trying to decipher what it is that I wanted to do with my life. This led me to becoming a TA (teaching assistant) for biology 127. A teaching assistant is responsible for having office ... [more]

36 on the ACT Math as of September 2017 Try one hour with me and cancel if you aren't satisfied. Test Prep: 99th percentile SAT and ACT scores. I always let parents know that it's important that the student gets help at least one month before the test to get adequate practice. It's also worth noting that the SAT may be taken a few times as only the top scores count, so much isn't lost. I first assess the student's weaknesses and strengths with a practice test then continue to shape up their techniques with practice questions. Hom... [more]

I am now looking to get back into tutoring as m... [more]

I have had much success tutoring over my career as an educator. I find it easy to relate to students in 1 on 1 or small group settings and can present material in a way that they can understand it. If one approach doesn't work, I'll try another...then another, until the student feels comfortable. My particular strength is in preparation for the Math SAT as I have had students routinely score in the 600-700 range and one even scored a 780! I also enjoy the subject matter and I have found...
