In addition to tutoring students in high school mathematics, I offer test prep tutoring for students preparing for the ACT. I have led a local test prep group this year that is growing in popularity, and am proud to see students become aware of the simple but powerful techniques required to outscore yourself on the test. What differentiates me from many tutors and tutoring companies is that I work for you (the student) and *not* for the test. What that means is that, when we work together, I will show you how I myself would solve the problems rather than persuade you to use the methods you'r [more]

I believe that everyone has the ability to learn Math. Not everyone has the easiest time learning it in a classroom setting, of course, but I can honestly say I never tutored anyone who didn't understand the material after a little one-on-one explanation. I like to meet a student where they are, emphasize their strengths, and build on the knowledge and understanding they already have. I am a homeschooling mom with a B.S. in Mathematics and Latin from Louisiana State University, and a M.S... [more]

The ACT Math section is very similar to a typical high school curriculum. I have taught math full time for several years and tutored students in high school math for over 10 years, especially including test prep. Having trouble with trig? Can't get your head around implicit differentiation? Systems of equations not quite adding up? Call me for any of your math needs. I have a Bachelor's degree in Pure Math and have extensive experience tutoring high school and college students in 1-on-1 and small group settings in classes all the way from algebra through upper calculus and SAT/GRE Prep.
