I have taught classes in ACT math and have helped my students achieve their academic goals. Similar to SAT Math, my strategy for students is about thoroughly re-familiarizing students with all the math they learned over the past several years. Typically, we will go through an ACT book of problems and do several exercises together, inspiring dozens of those "Oh yeah!" moments. After each lesson, the student gets stronger in the material, and can feel it. I have been happily tutoring for over 15 years, and so I have learned to relate mathematical concepts to a wide variety of students. As f [more]

I love teaching and have been doing it for over 10 years. Mentored by the founder of Mathnasium, I have learned the ins and outs of how to effectively make math make sense to students and drastically improve their confidence. While running 11 Mathnasium company-owned centers, I have personally overseen and contributed to the educational growth of over one thousand students! Moreover, I worked in the curriculum department at Mathnasium headquarters, so I am very comfortable with and informed a... [more]

Because I'm very effective at teaching algebra, geometry and precalculus, I've been able to help students become very proficient at solving the kinds of problems that appear on the ACT Math exam. The key to my students' success on this exam has been teaching them both test taking strategy and getting them very familiar with the types of problems that appear on the ACT Math test as well as how to solve them. I'm also great at finding out what it is they "don't get" and helping them "get it" so they'll succeed on the ACT Math test. [more]

I have taken a variety of math, English and science tests throughout school, in the military, in college, and to become a teacher. The tests have ranged from the SAT, CEEB, and CBEST, and I have developed methods and strategies to help my students become more successful while taking their tests. As an LAUSD high school math teacher, I taught algebra, and as an LAUSD high school science teacher I taught algebra, geometry and trigonometry to my students to help them do our activities, labs, problems, and science projects in our physics, chemistry, earth science, and biology classes.
