Hi! My name is Kevin, and I've been tutoring students of all ages and abilities for over nine years. My primary focus is STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), but I also help students succeed in computer programming and in test prep (ACT/SAT/GRE). I believe that, with the right support and attitude, anyone can learn to do anything! My students validate this belief every day. I began tutoring when I was getting my degree in mechanical engineering at Rose-Hulman (Terre Haute, IN),... [more]

I'm Brent! I am currently an in progress student with less than a year left to obtain my accounting degree. Although accounting is the major I chose, my passion is for the broader subject of math. I grew up falling in love with numbers and the applications of the many subjects of math. During my education, like most everyone, I would come to several math problems or even other subjects where I just could not understand the answer or how to get to it. There are many ways to explain an a... [more]

I scored a perfect score on the ACT Math test in 2009. I have also tutored for ACT Math with select individuals that increased their scores by several points. I have a degree in Political Science from Brown University. I have a passion for tutoring. I truly enjoy seeing the look of excitement that comes with the understanding of a difficult concept, and want to help as many people as possible reach that level. My experience with tutoring started with peer tutoring as a member of the Mu Alpha Theta chapter at my high school, focusing on Algebra 2 and Calculus topics. After graduating from colle [more]

Most of the math covered on the ACT Math test is usually taught in Grades 7-10, but few remember the concepts and methods. After determining exactly what math skills the student needs, I provide instruction and practice. My ACT tutoring methods, based on many years of tutoring and lots of research, are similar for all four subjects tested. I can easily summarize my method in two words: review and practice. Most students need review in one or more of the four subjects, but all need help with test practice. I only use real ACT tests so the student gets used to the type and wording of each quest [more]

I have been tutoring all sections of the ACT for almost 10 years, with good success. I have worked every test that has been distributed or sent to students, so I have a solid grasp of what the ACT Committee is looking for and know the patterns of how questions are asked. The Math Section stems directly from all the other subjects I tutor, but the difference is knowing good strategies for approaching the ACT. I am an experienced tutor in many subjects, but prefer math as it is my favorite subject. I have been teaching and tutoring since 1986! Tutoring brings an extra level of satisfaction becau [more]

I earned a 34 on the ACT with a 36 in the Science section and 35 in both the English and Science sections. In preparation for standardized tests I have worked with test prep agencies and private tutors and, as a result, have learned all of the best ways to prepare for each section (including tips and tricks to help you save time!). I have since prepared many students for all four sections of the ACT and am eager to help others achieve their target score! I have recently graduated as valedictorian from the School of Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis with a degree in biomedical e [more]
