Finally putting my job aside to pursue my passion, I left engineering and completed both a Math degree (Dean's list) and a secondary math teaching license in 2013. Having taught in various middle and high school classrooms for the last four years, I understand what a teacher requires, ... [more]

The best tutor isn't the one that you come back and see every week. The best tutor is the last one that you will ever need to see. It should be my responsibility as a professional tutor to do everything in my ability to work on both short-term solutions and long-term solutions to my student's academic struggles. For students to be able fend for themselves in the academic pursuit is a gift of the highest order. However, that gift does not come over night. On the other hand, tests are already ... [more]

My approach with the Math section of the ACT is 2-fold: 1) Concept review; 2) Test taking strategies. Each student has unique needs. With concept review, I provide materials so that students become proficient all topics covered in the test. I ask my students to take a practice test to determine baseline scores. To gain mastery of new skills learned, I encourage my students to practice via assigned homework. My students typically do very well wi [more]
