When I was in high school, the ACT wasn't the big-deal test it is now. We were given the ACT as a school-wide assessment, and I got 34s in Math, English, and Reading. I wasn't prepared for the science section and got only a 26. That's a 32 overall (99%ile). Since then, I've learned a lot about the test and read up on strategies for navigating it. I love teaching the ACT. I think it's a better test than the SAT, though I often encourage students to take practice tests of both.
