Drawing on my own education in the sciences, I've been helping ACT science students raise their scores for the last five years. I can't think of any students who have not been very happy with the results we have achieved together. I have been tutoring for fifteen years, with particular skillfulness in readying students for the PSAT, SAT, ACT and GRE. I've worked with a wide range of students, from the elementary school level to graduate school level, and am especially proud of having helped many students earn scholarship offers to the high schools and colleges of their choice. I received my [more]

This is an odd test, because it actually relies very little on the supposed content, scientific knowledge. What it tests most is the ability to make sense of charts, figures, tables and diagrams, and to recognize what patterns in those visual aids imply. Some reading comprehension work and some math work can help, but more than anything this is an area where practice in the techniques of taking the test will pay off. I help students work through practice tests until they're comfortable working them quickly on their own. [more]

I tutored pre-medical Biology for six semesters in my undergraduate program at the University of Louisville. Upon graduating I started teaching AP Biology, AP Environmental and honors biology at the high school level and have done so for three years! I absolutely love science and have a passion for sharing it with others. In addition to biology tutoring I also have been trained to tutor the science ACT. I try to making learning hands on and fun, using many analogies to help foster a deeper... [more]

Hello! I have been tutoring for over three years and have been able to help students of many ages reach their academic goals. I enjoy teaching math, English, writing, science, study habits, test taking skills, and just about anything else. I scored a 34 on the ACT, with perfect score of 36s in the English and Science sections, so I know what it takes to... [more]

I received a 34 on my last taking of the ACT, and a 36 on the science section. I understand how to best study for the science section and what kinds of skills it requires. I will focus on making sure that the student is able to quickly and effectively read the passages and graphs so that he or she is able to effectively answer the questions. I just graduated from Bellarmine University Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science. During my four years there I have tutored countless students both through Wyzant and independentl [more]
