The ACT science tests students' abilities to analyze and understand scientific data put forth in experiments with collection of data and results. I am able to teach students how to acquire the skill necessary to interpret these data and answer questions correctly in an efficient and concise manner I have eight years classroom experience working with students of differing strengths and weaknesses. Students with varying learning styles and abilities can be taught using a variety of creative techniques. Using this approach to teaching almost certainly will allow you to find ways of stimulating st [more]

I have tutored dozens of students in SAT math, ACT math, Economics and high school math with excellent results. Additionally, I have also helped candidates working on their GMAT, MBA in Finance, Series 7, and Series 66 exams. One on One tutoring has always proven to be the most effective teaching method. I believe that everyone has the capability to learn. The secret sauce is the right approach and it takes a sensitive teacher to find the correct recipe that works. The proper approach depends... I scored a 35 on the ACT Science Test by learning how to manage my time effectively. While it is easy to assume you have to be a science enthusiast to do well on this portion of the test, that's actually not true. It is more of a reading comprehension and time management test than anything else. I teach students how to sift through data and scientific jargon to find what they need to score points, and to do so quickly so they are able to get through all of the passages in the allotted time. If you're looking for expert instruction from a tutor who genuinely cares, I'm your guy. I scored in the [more]

I have been trained by a tutoring company in NYC to prepare students for the ACT. Interestingly enough, the science section on the ACT does not require any outside knowledge of science. It tests students' ability to read graphs, infer conclusions, evaluate experimental evidence, and apply the scientific method. There isn't a lot of time on these sections, so efficiency is the primary goal. I have access to a deep library of preparatory materials and prepare students using time-management techniques that have proven effective. [more]

Over 5+ years teaching students the rules and tricks needed to do well on the ACT Science test. I scored a composite score of 34 on the ACT when I took the test 10 years ago. When I first started my college journey, I hadn't a clue about what I wanted to do. Over the years, I've narrowed it down to two things: I love working with people, and I love helping them learn. I've spent years working for other tutoring/test prep companies and have decided to venture out on my own. I've run the gamut of tutoring experiences, everything from helping students understand algebraic concepts to preparing fo [more]

I'm an highly specialized SAT/ACT full time tutor focused on helping students who are at or near the top of their class to pursue scores in the 99th percentile. Many of my recent students currently attend the top colleges in the world. With a willingness to put in work and with the right tutor, a top score is not so far-fetched... particularly for the straight A student who believes that he/she is a poor test taker. I live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where I write SAT/ACT practice curricul... [more]

I'm a full-time high school science and math teacher and can help you or your child focus on test-taking strategies as well as solidifying understanding of the material itself. The science covered on the test relies less on memorization of terms and more on being able to think logically about the material presented in the questions themselves, so the key is to focus on habits of mind and speed when working through problems. I find nothing more rewarding than helping students to deeply understand how things work and to watch them grow more and more confident in their own abilities. I am a full- [more]

Einstein once said, ?If you can?t teach it to a six year old, you don?t understand it yourself." I certainly don?t profess to be Einstein, but I do think the key to effective tutoring is being able to articulate difficult concepts in a simple manner. I have a BS from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from NYU. During my career I held a number of technical positions: consulting engineer, technical sales engineer, sales manager, and product manager. I have tutored many students in bot... [more]

I'm exclusively an SAT/ACT tutor. I provide value to parents by consistently outperforming even the highest-priced tutors. I draw on both years of experience as a course instructor for a premier test prep company and my background in cognitive psychology to personalize my approach for each new student. I weave cutting-edge test-taking strategies into individualized lessons. With every student, I begin by carefully observing how the student naturally proceeds as a test-taker. I then tailor my...
