I have been a tutor for more than 20 years. I have taught hundreds of students during this time. My students master the Math, English, and Test Preparation Skills required for standardized tests. My method of choice for tutoring is hands on one on one tutoring with the students doing active learning where th... [more]

My passion for teaching was founded by my own experience as a student. Throughout my academic career, the challenges I encountered refined my own approach to understanding subjects, and the ensuing success after overcoming such obstacles brought me further love for learning and those subjects. I want to transmit that feeling of accomplishment to students as they master their own subjects, and hopefully foster a passion for further learning and success in any of their other endeavors. As a to... [more]

I have worked with at least 10 different students in all major mathematics classes starting with Algebra through Advanced Calculus. I work with many college students at Stanford or Santa Clara University during the day, and meet... [more]

I've worked as a tutor for over 8 years, both at the high school and collegiate level. Currently I'm a high school math teacher, so I'm extremely familiar with the math curricula taught in high schools. My areas of expertise are in Algebra and SAT Math, as I personally wrote the Algebra I, II and SAT curricula for the tutoring company I work at. Every single one of my Algebra students have improved by at least one full letter grade, and my SAT students have all surpassed either their previou... [more]

I am a student working on a PhD with a focus on PTSD recovery and treatment. In college, I majored in Human Biology. I was fortunate enough to have great professors throughout my educational career, and so I recognize the value of clarity when explaining concepts. Throughout college I organized tutoring sessions for classmates, as well as working as a tutor for the courses I had already completed. In addition to that, I worked as a TA for upper-division biology courses, as well as teaching... [more]

Tutoring is one of my favorite things to do. I have been tutoring my younger siblings since they were in elementary school. I have helped them and some of my friends succeed in school. My strategy when tutoring is to take it slow until they understand the topic fully and are comfortable enough to take on a question themselves. I enjoy tutoring because I enjoy helping to spread my knowledge. It is a privilege to watch someone learn something they were struggling with and I want to see tha... [more]

I am a bay area graduate (UC Berkeley) who has loved the learning process all my life. I have used my math and science skills throughout my engineering career, and enjoy engaging others in the learning process. Seeing a student smile as they begin to understand a difficult topic is very rewarding. I specialize in tutoring chemistry, math, and physics to help students achieve success in school, and on the various standardized tests. My goal is not only to help the student learn, but create ...
