The greatest joy I get, as a teacher, is helping my students be successful, and it is my goal for all of my students to understand and be comfortable with chemistry concepts. I am a highly qualified and certified chemistry and general science teacher in Arizona, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. After many years of hard work, I have earned a B. A. Chemistry degree which includes American Chemical Society certification and a M. Ed. Secondary Math and Science degree. I have been a teacher for four year... [more]

I am a college graduate with 2 bachelor of science degrees: Aerospace Engineering, and Space Physics. I was a tutor at my university for 2 years in higher level math and physics before I graduated. After graduation, I became a tutor at my hometown's community college while I looked for engineering careers. While there, I also tutored all levels of math and physics. The math courses I have assisted students in include, but are not limited to: algebra I and II, trigonometry, geometry, pre... [more]

I am currently a full-time GED teacher and I have a very high completion rate (usually a student gets their GED in 2-3 months). I work with minors and adults who have dropped out at eighth or ninth grade. I give them tips for taking tests and show them tricks to learn the material faster. I am positive and I create a learning environment that encourages students to learn. I have taken students from not being able to read all the way through their GED and into college classes.... I have had a lot of experience aiding students in their ACT Science studies. As such, I understand each type of science question and tricks for time managing. I make sure to understand what my students are struggling with in the science section and equip them with the knowledge and tools to finish within the allotted time with a high degree of accuracy. I tailor my lessons to the student, making it as enjoyable a learning experience as possible. More importantly, I tailor my instruction to the student's weaknesses and I patiently address each and every student with positive reinforcement unti [more]

I tutored math, chemistry and physics at Pima Community College for five years. A combination of strong communication skills, patience, and knowledge of mathematics give me the ability to help those who lack the confidence and skills needed to turn math into a friend instead of a foe. I prefer to meet at U of A or PCC.... [more]

Received a 30 on the Science portion when I took the test (2011), and have tutored students in preparation for the ACT. Prior to WyzAnt I was an online tutor at Chegg. I love to learn. I have a broad base of subjects I feel comfortable tutoring, but not because I have dissertations and awards in these fields. It's more fun and effective to show people how to learn something than to tutor with the attitude of, "I know this, you don't." Helping a student figure out the many ways a subject can be approached makes difficult problems less daunting. Not only do students leave my sessions with questi [more]
