Over the past 10 years, I have been successfully tutoring students in the early Society of Actuary and Casualty Actuarial examinations. I have reached Associate status with the SOA. Current students are taking Exam S for the CAS. Most students find that passing P1 and FM are sufficient to gain an actuarial trainee position by which time their education is fully funded. I can advise on getting that coveted first actuarial job. I also tutor candidates for the VEE portion - Corporate Finance, Economics and Linear Regression. I can also help you get up to speed in the necessary calculus, finan [more]

I have received A's in all courses, and have successfully passed P and FM. Hi! I'm Matthew, an Actuarial Science major at St. John's University. As part of my education, I've taken courses in probability and finance. Additionally, I have sat for and passed SOA Exam 1/P (in November 2014) and Exam 2/FM (August 2016). I don't have experience with the other exams, but I will, as I am pursuing a designation with the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS). I am currently studying to take MFE in November. Thanks for reading my profile and considering me for your tutor! I am an experienced math tutor newly moved to the White Plains area, but I work in the Financial District. I recently completed my Bachelor of Arts in computer science and my Bachel [more]

I am a Associate of the Society of Actuaries having passed the first 5 exams. I also passed (what at the time was) the 7th exam which qualified me for being an Enrolled Actuary. This meant that I was authorized to sign schedule C of the 5500 form for the IRS filings for Pension Plans as well as use actuarial science to perform valuations on Pension Plans. Hi, while I haven't been tutoring for money since College, I have helped a number of students when asked by parents and friends to get over the rough spots in their education. Often there are topics that just don't make sense to a student [more]

I successfully completed exams 100 and 110 a number of years ago and these have been converted to credit for COURSE1 which gives me a conversion credit for exam P. Exam P is the very first exam and covers probability. So, based on the fact I have passed exams 100 and 110, and those convert to Exam P, I should be able to help people with exam P. Exam P is only the first exam in the list of requirements given by the Society of Actuaries for certification. I currently teach ESL at nights for "USA English Audiovisual School," in Plainfield, NJ. This gives me little time to tutor for Wyzant. B [more]

I have successfully passed most of the actuarial exams given by the Casualty Actuarial Society and the Society of Actuaries. I have also spent over a decade in the insurance industry as an actuarial specialist. Many actuarial students have received my tutoring and training over the years. I have passed the first two actuarial exams, P and FM. I've been a tutor since 2007 when I entered graduate school. I've found it a great way to continue teaching, engage with students, and tutor the very subjects that got me into math in the first place. I've had thorough experience teaching at the university level and tutoring in: financial mathematics, mathematics, physics, statistics, computer programming, actuarial sciences and test preparation (SAT and GRE) to both undergraduate and graduate students. I have been a Quantitative Associ... [more]

I have completed 4 actuarial exams (Exam P, FM, MFE, C). My average preparation time for my actuarial exams is less most people. I know how to prepare people for the exams and ensure them to pass with confidence. First and foremost, I am an effective tutor. I graduated from New York University Stern School of Business with double majors in Actuarial Science and Finance and a joint minor in Computer Science and Mathematics. I am currently working as a Model Risk Specialist. I have passed 4 actuarial exams (P, FM, MFE, C) with only one attempt in each exam. For actuarial exams preparation, I am [more]
