Over the past 10 years, I have been successfully tutoring students in the early Society of Actuary and Casualty Actuarial examinations. I have reached Associate status with the SOA. Current students are taking Exam S for the CAS. Most students find that passing P1 and FM are sufficient to gain an actuarial trainee position by which time their education is fully funded. I can advise on getting that coveted first actuarial job. I also tutor candidates for the VEE portion - Corporate Finance, Economics and Linear Regression. I can also help you get up to speed in the necessary calculus, finan [more]

I not only want to help you succeed in your math class, but I also want to share the passion that I have to expose you to some of the most highly ranked jobs in the world. I ha [more]

I am a Associate of the Society of Actuaries having passed the first 5 exams. I also passed (what at the time was) the 7th exam which qualified me for being an Enrolled Actuary. This meant that I was authorized to sign schedule C of the 5500 form for the IRS filings for Pension Plans as well as use actuarial science to perform valuations on Pension Plans. Hi, while I haven't been tutoring for money since College, I have helped a number of students when asked by parents and friends to get over the rough spots in their education. Often there are topics that just don't make sense to a student [more]

I successfully completed exams 100 and 110 a number of years ago and these have been converted to credit for COURSE1 which gives me a conversion credit for exam P. Exam P is the very first exam and covers probability. So, based on the fact I have passed exams 100 and 110, and those convert to Exam P, I should be able to help people with exam P. Exam P is only the first exam in the list of requirements given by the Society of Actuaries for certification. I currently teach ESL at nights for "USA English Audiovisual School," in Plainfield, NJ. This gives me little time to tutor for Wyzant. B [more]

I have been a full time student in actuarial science master student at Columbia for more than a year. I have passed Exam P, FM, MFE, and C already. Just took MLC this October. I have passed the first two actuarial exams, P and FM. I've been a tutor since 2007 when I entered graduate school. I've found it a great way to continue teaching, engage with students, and tutor the very subjects that got me into math in the first place. I've had thorough experience teaching at the university level and tutoring in: financial mathematics, mathematics, physics, statistics, computer programming, actuarial sciences and test preparation (SAT and GRE) to both undergraduate and graduate students. I have been a Quantitative Associ... [more]
