Algebra is my favorite math subject. I look at Algebra problems as puzzles to solve. Difficulties with algebra is sometimes linked to holes in basic mathematics skills. Once these skills are learned and practiced, algebra becomes easier. I love helping students improve their math and reading skills. Many times, students need additional coaching in school subjects to improve their understanding. Using my Master's degree in Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and experience as a classroom teacher, I can help you succeed in the classroom. My favorite part of teaching is one on [more]

In high school, I placed first in a number of Math Team competitions and completed Calculus III, Statistics, and Differential Equations; I then expanded upon my mathematical knowledge at Georgia Tech with myriad math-based engineering courses, Linear Algebra, and Random Signals. I practiced professionally as an electrical engineer prior to medical school, and currently teach math ranging from Elementary Math through Differential Equations and Discrete Math. I work to formulate an engaging lesson plan for any learning style, and endeavor to make a frequently under-appreciated subject accessibl [more]

For 4 years (2011-2014, 2016-2017), I taught English to college freshmen as well as tutored college students in English. I continue tutoring individuals of various ages today. While my undergraduate and graduate education focused on English, I also have a great love for basic math and algebra. Also, I have familiarity with the ACT and an ever-increasing familiarity with the Revised GRE, the latter being an exam that I last took in August 2016 and on which I received an acceptable score. I currently work full-time tutoring women who are working to obtain their GEDs. My primary focus is on pre-Algebra, Algebra I, and Geometry. It is always a huge blessing when I am able to see my students understand something that was once so frustrating and/or intimidating for them. While I am grateful that they are able to learn the math, the greatest reward is watching their confidence build in themselves and their capabilities. I have been tutoring for a year and a half full-time. I hav... [more]

Hello! I am currently in the final year of my doctorate degree and have a broad range of tutoring subjects in the areas of science and math. I graduated with Latin honors in biochemistry with a pre-medical focus in 2013. I first began tutoring in the mid 2000s with middle school math. After seeing the student rise from a failing grade to a B average over a semester, I knew I would always have a passion for teaching. Since then, I have served as a tutor in high school pre-algebra, algebra 1, a... [more]

I?m a retired engineer that has proficiently used algebra and trig for over 30 years and Microsoft Excel for over 20 years. Throughout my career, I have helped family members and friends overcome their difficulties with math and have assisted many with Excel. I enjoy seeing the excitement on the faces of both young and old when they master a subject that has gotten the best of them. I took 21 hours of math (algebra through differential equations) while getting engineering degree. I not onl... [more]
