I dream of Algebra, and it is part of everyone's everyday life. It brings me joy to help anyone understand Algebra better. I have tutored 15 Algebra students (5 online). Hello I'm Terrence! Hello! I'm a geeky guy looking to help students with math, physics, and programming. I have a B.S. in Mathematics from FGCU and a B.S. in Computer Science from USF. I love helping people with math, and tutoring is a very rewarding process for me. I like to approach tutoring in a casual way, while keeping on track with what needs to be done. I try to help students gain an interest in what they are doing, and show them how math/physics can solve some really cool problems. I think the best ... [more]

My state, Indiana, has an exit exam for all algebra students to take when they complete the course, called an ECA. All of my students passed this exam each year I taught algebra. I feel this is because I have the experience which enables me to understand what material is most important and then explain it simple terms. I also have worked closely with our special education department finding ways to help those students with an IEP, or 504. I am a certified math teacher with a masters in education. For the last 38.5 years I taught algebra and geometry at a public high school, one of Indiana's [more]

I have spent hundreds of hours helping college students who have struggled with math their whole lives. And with my background in math, as a high school teacher, I have been given everything from Algebra II to second year AP Calculus to teach. I tend to focus very much on understanding how something works, but then I think algebra I is more about learning the process of making something work, and we can worry about marrying that with the how and why later. I have a B.S in Mathematics from FGCU plus about 18 graduate credits. I also have a knack for taking cryptic symbols and frustrating proble [more]

I have two years experience teaching Language Arts and three years teaching math in Lee County. I have taught Algebra and Geometry. I had success getting students to understand the concepts of Algebra. Learning math is all about the repetition. Unless students are willing to spend at least 30 minutes a day doing math, keeping up is tough. I do not teach the Common Core methods and think they are cumbersome. I can show your child the way to understand their assignments and comprehe... [more]
