During the past few summers I have been teaching Algebra I remediation at the Army and Navy Academy. I am very familiar with the topics that students have trouble with. I have been teaching Physics for the past 5 years and I truly love it. Before that, I tutored it for 4 years. In college I chose Physics as my major because I enjoyed it and it made sense to me. I decided to tutor it because I wanted others to see the same things. My goal, still, is to show my students that Physics is not hard and can be fun to learn. I have taught at large public schools and small private ones. I am not [more]

Throughout the course of my seven-year academic career, I have implemented these principles both academically and professionally. I have actually tutored this very subject for middle school through college level students, including Algebra 1. If you are a student that feels as though you could benefit from having one-on-one help to clarify areas in your math or science courses that just don't seem to be clicking, I would be more than happy to be your study partner! Something I have found to be true time and time again is that receiving additional help is massively beneficial, and certainly doe [more]

I discovered my preference for teaching and helping those that struggle with understanding concepts during my graduate work. I have a passion for learning and for learning the most effective routes for concept building. This is the basis of how I structure my tutoring sessions regardless of subject. I believe that conceptual understanding followed by appropriate application of learned tools for maneuvering within the concept is the key to learning and internalizing a subject as opposed to ro... With over six years of tutoring experience, I've helped students of various ages and abilities. As an internationally certified tutor, I take great pride in saying that all of my students have successfully passed their courses and improved their grades. My love for teaching began when I started tutoring at a local community college. In less than a year, I became a tutor facilitator (tutoring small groups), and a tutor trainer. Helping students to learn and build confidence are passions of m... [more]

I graduated from Cal Poly SLO over two years ago with a BS in Electrical Engineering. And I have been working as an Electrical Design Engineer in San Diego. I started tutoring Algebra, Trig, and Geometry in high school and continued to do so while in college. I've worked with middle school through college level students and had no issues improving grades or preparing for exams. I'm a pretty easy going tutor with a lot of patience. However, if you (or your child) doesn't want to improv... [more]
