Mathematics has always been one of my favorite subjects. I have taken college level courses in algebra and teaching mathematics. At my last school, I taught algebra to high school students on an individual basis, much like tutoring, using several different computer platforms. I also taught algebra to students in small groups, according to what skills they needed to pass the AIMS test. I believe that knowing how to work with fractions is essential to success in algebra. This is an area that many students have difficulty with. I teach my students operations with fractions, using numbers first [more]

When it comes to math, Algebra is my first love. I find with my students that many of their problems with Algebra can be fixed with careful review of strategies for solving the different categories of equations. Algebra is my very favorite subject to tutor. Besides that, true memorization of math facts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)~so that students instantly know the answers, will go a long way in improving the math grades. Tutoring while guiding the student is my purpose. I believe that all students can learn and become high achievers if they are given the appropriat [more]

I have a valid Arizona Certified Teaching Certificate K-8, and a math endorsement on my certificate K-12. I have taken the AEPA middle school and high school tests, and passed both of them. I am a highly qualified K-12 math teacher in the state of Arizona. I've taught for 9 years in the public school system (2nd - 7th grades & 1 year of high school math). I'm currently a college math instructor starting my 4th year. I'm a hands-on instructor, and very enthusiastic about math. I love teaching math! Hello, my name is Dr. Kelly, and I am well versed in mathematics, physics, and the medical sciences. I got my undergraduate degrees in physics and economics and my doctor of naturopathic medicine degree from SCNM. I currently teach anatomy and physiology. I believe that a good tutor gets to know their student and understands what THEIR problems are and attends to them instead of just trying to hammer all the concepts into their head. In my experience, even the most abstract mathematical or ... [more]

I was a National Merit Scholar in high school and graduated from ASU and the Barrett Honors College in 2000. That same year I started teaching SAT and GRE after scoring 800 A 760 M 740 V on the old GRE scoring scale and 780 M 760 V SAT. I have taught SAT classes and tutored for various standardized exams down to the 6th grade level and know the difference in scores that the added attention and coaching of my private tutoring makes for students. I tutor all sections of the SAT and ACT and ... [more]

For the past 9 years, I have taught English, Math, and college entrance and grad school entrance exams. I've been fortunate enough to have natural knack for standardized tests, and I've learned how to communicate clear and effective concepts and strategies to students. Hundreds of my students have improved their scores and have gotten the results they have needed for success in their classes or to get in at top schools around the country. Every student has different learning styles and ne... [more]

What is Algebra 1? To keep it simple, I would say what I do with the student in the subject. I help the student understand how to manipulate mathematical expressions in order to simplify them, solve an equation or graphically represent expressions. I try to make students identify the key concepts and apply them in performing the operations mentioned above. Hi, My name is Tsihugwa, which can be a tongue twister so friends call me Zee and students call me Mr. Zee. I have been a teacher/tutor for almost 28 years having first taught musical instruments in 1984. I graduated with Bachelor of Scienc [more]

I've been doing algebra 1 for what seems to be forever; I was interested in it when I was a kid, so when I was still in elementary school, my dad taught me how to factor and expand (foil). When I finally got to Algebra 1 in school, I passed easily, helping everyone else in my group to understand the concepts that I had known for years. I still love doing Algebra, and if you need help with it, I would LOVE to help you. It's OK, my boyfriend who is in calculus had to have me help him with factoring too. [more]

I teach others, especially those who have, for whatever reason, obstacles in their learning. I teach teachers. I teach those who will, one day, be able to teach future generations. After fifteen years of educating in Special Education classrooms in California and Arizona, I redirected my energies primarily on tutoring individual students. When I can focus my full attention on a single student, I can identify needs and strategies faster, and address concerns as they arise. I work with par... [more]

Hello! My name is Brianne, and I'm currently in Dental School at A. T. Still University. I'm from New York originally, but I LOVE living in Arizona! I love it so much that I have decided to stay permanently. I spent my undergraduate years at High Point University, in North Carolina, where I studied Biology. My passion for science led me to healthcare, and I'm so excited to be where I am today. I'm not a professional tutor or teacher, but I have some experience tutoriting in the community. Ho... [more]
