This subject is for students taking first year Algebra. Algebra I includes topics such as factoring, graphing, polynomial operations, radicals, problem solving, and inequalities. I am a retired teacher who will work very hard for you! I teach students to think on a deeper level. I constantly look for feedback from tutoring students and make sure they leave a session knowing concepts! In addition I am a retired professional engineer and have extensive experience in all phases of engineering from my previous career.... [more]

I have always excelled in mathematics. I scored 780 on SAT Math and 790 on GRE Quantitative (maximum score of 800 for each test at the time I took them). I currently teach high school mathematics. I spent several years teaching middle school students, as well. I have special education experience, which helps me to serve students at a wide range of ability levels in mathematics. I have always excelled in mathematics. I had good teachers in middle school and high school, and they laid a mathematics foundation that allowed me to score 780 on SAT Math and 790 on GRE Quantitative (maximum score wa [more]

I've been doing algebra 1 for what seems to be forever; I was interested in it when I was a kid, so when I was still in elementary school, my dad taught me how to factor and expand (foil). When I finally got to Algebra 1 in school, I passed easily, helping everyone else in my group to understand the concepts that I had known for years. I still love doing Algebra, and if you need help with it, I would LOVE to help you. It's OK, my boyfriend who is in calculus had to have me help him with factoring too. [more]

When it comes to math, Algebra is my first love. I find with my students that many of their problems with Algebra can be fixed with careful review of strategies for solving the different categories of equations. Algebra is my very favorite subject to tutor. Besides that, true memorization of math facts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)~so that students instantly know the answers, will go a long way in improving the math grades. Tutoring while guiding the student is my purpose. I believe that all students can learn and become high achievers if they are given the appropriat [more]

Hello, my name is Dr. Kelly, and I am well versed in mathematics, physics, and the medical sciences. I got my undergraduate degrees in physics and economics and my doctor of naturopathic medicine degree from SCNM. I currently teach anatomy and physiology. I believe that a good tutor gets to know their student and understands what THEIR problems are and attends to them instead of just trying to hammer all the concepts into their head. In my experience, even the most abstract mathematical or ... [more]

Mathematics has always been one of my favorite subjects. I have taken college level courses in algebra and teaching mathematics. At my last school, I taught algebra to high school students on an individual basis, much like tutoring, using several different computer platforms. I also taught algebra to students in small groups, according to what skills they needed to pass the AIMS test. I believe that knowing how to work with fractions is essential to success in algebra. This is an area that many students have difficulty with. I teach my students operations with fractions, using numbers first [more]

- Bachelor of Science in Mathematics - Tutor and teaching assistant in college - Taught and tutored Mathematics (and other subjects) at Naval Nuclear Power School I was a Mathematics major in college and was a teaching assistant and tutor. After graduation, I joined the United States Navy and taught math and other subjects at the Naval Nuclear Power School for five years. Following that, I had a 27-year career as an actuary. I enjoy helping students learn how to solve problems. I emphasize the "why" as much as the "how". I tutored math in college and in the Navy. I have patience and [more]

What is Algebra 1? To keep it simple, I would say what I do with the student in the subject. I help the student understand how to manipulate mathematical expressions in order to simplify them, solve an equation or graphically represent expressions. I try to make students identify the key concepts and apply them in performing the operations mentioned above. Hi, My name is Tsihugwa, which can be a tongue twister so friends call me Zee and students call me Mr. Zee. I have been a teacher/tutor for almost 28 years having first taught musical instruments in 1984. I graduated with Bachelor of Scienc [more]

My name is Sheetal. I am 39 years old and live in Gilbert AZ. I relocated last year from Southern California, where I graduated with a BS in Physics from Cal Poly Pomona. I am a full time engineer and spend most of time studying and learning more as the field of math and science is consistently evolving. Education and learning is a passion of mine and when with friends or family, I spend much of my time explaining complex scientific ideas to them as well as anyone who wants to ask. I enj... [more]

I teach others, especially those who have, for whatever reason, obstacles in their learning. I teach teachers. I teach those who will, one day, be able to teach future generations. After fifteen years of educating in Special Education classrooms in California and Arizona, I redirected my energies primarily on tutoring individual students. When I can focus my full attention on a single student, I can identify needs and strategies faster, and address concerns as they arise. I work with par... [more]
