I make it easy Kathy

Even though I teach Science at the college level, I always enjoy one on one interactions with high school or college level students, where I can help that person achieve the goals and successes they desire. Most people just lack the confidence, and I so enjoy watching them gain confidence and achieve what they want to. I have a broad education with a degree in Chemistry, minor in Math, and a PhD in Biology, so I think this can help me integrate subjects for the student to both engage their ... [more]

MIT graduate available to teach Science, Math, and Test Prep

The bulk of my experience teaching algebra 1 material comes from working with students in other classes. I often have to review these skills with students for their higher level math classes or science classes, which to me highlights the importance of learning the material well early on since it will definitely come up again in the future. As such, I do my best to reinforce the concepts with practice and solid, clear explanations to build a strong foundation. It seems like teaching has always been a part of my life, whether I was helping classmates with assignments at school, practicing my c [more]

Retired AP Chemistry Teacher

Chemistry calculations are predominantly algebra. I generally had to reteach algebra to my Chemistry students. After spending 30 years in the Chemical Industry in various jobs from research synthesis, engineering scale up, analytical testing (both chemical and physical) and quality assurance (statistical quality control), I became a High School Teacher. I spent 11 years teaching Science, Chemistry and AP Chemistry. My BS degree is in Chemistry and I have a minor in Geology. My skill set includes teaching study skills - the Cornell note taking system is designed to move information from shor [more]

Hello! A little info about me... I love to teach! It's as simple (and challenging) as that. Innovative principal (retired) to tutor all subjects and test prep

For the four months prior to the OAA in 2013, I was the primary math teacher for an autistic 7th grade student who was only on a fifth grade level in math. I taught him all the sixth and seventh grade Ohio indicators between January and May and he achieved an Accelerated score on his Math OAA. I have also worked with a fifth grader in math who improved from an F to a B in math. Recently, I worked with a ninth grader who needed to obtain a passing grade in Algebra I prior to the beginning of the 2015-16 school year. His assessments were consistently in the 80-100% range.
