My greatest reward is to see the "light bulb," the "now I understand," look. During my years as a student, at all levels, I helped my fellow students. Some told me that I could explain better than the teacher. I worked for GTE for many years and learned useful practical applications for my knowledge. My math skills helped me change the order of calculations in a computer program so that it did not overflow the memory of the old machine that was not nearly as powerful as the ones today. ... Hello, My name is Lidia Villegas D. I am a Senior at UNT where I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Math. I am a math lab specialist who currently tutors many high school and college students from Pre-Algebra through Calculus. I am very aware of all the math concepts that these students are studying. I would love to tutor you or your child in math to have fun with it and help you succeed. I work at various colleges (UNT, NCTC and Spring Creek College) in the area and tutor math at all... [more]

I have always had a strong passion for math and music and I love to share that passion with other students. One of my goals as a tutor is to help each student acquire a stronger grasp on the concepts associated with each subject so that he or she can use those building blocks to understand higher level concepts in the future. I also try to develop a relationship with each student so that we can work as a team to find the best method of teaching for him or her. In the 2015-16 school year, I ... [more]

For the past three years I have tutored high school and college students in math and science classes. I have helped some kids receive an A in the class that they were barely passing at the beginning of the semester. I love the opportunity to help students understand the topics that they are learning in class while also teaching the students how to solve the problems that they are given. Going into my fourth year of tutoring I have gained more knowledge and experience to help all students acc... [more]

My love of teaching comes from a passion for the applied sciences. I love seeing the look of understanding on my students' faces when a seemingly incomprehensible topic suddenly makes sense. I have experience tutoring in Chemistry and Algebra through a teaching assistant position at Texas Woman's University. As I graduated with high honors and a double major, I understand the values of hard work and diligence and have had great success instilling comprehension and application of Chemistr... [more]

Recently retired means I can be very flexible in scheduling. I have taught all kinds of students at schools ranging from small rural to large suburban. Last 10 years I was at Guyer HS in Denton. I recently retired after teaching high school math for 20 years (the last 10 at Guyer HS in Denton). Geometry and Algebra are my greatest strengths. Although retired from teaching, I still enjoy working one on one with students and helping them get the best grades possible! If you wish to improve your scores, I can help you!... [more]

I am about to graduate the University of North Texas with a degree in History. I have been accepted to the graduate program here for U.S. History and I look forward to writing my thesis on labor movements in Texas. I currently tutor through Lewisville ISD for AVID, and once I get my master's degree I plan to be a High School teacher, hopefully with History. Throughout my educational career math has been a strong subject for me. I took the AP Calculus AB test and received a 5 on the exam. ... [more]

I am new to tutoring but I wouldn't try to be one if I knew it wasn't for me. I enjoy math; from basic math to algebra. I'm currently in college as a sophomore at the University of North Texas studying accounting. Like most college students, I'm in need of a job. I've had family, peers, and teachers suggest that I look into tutoring, specifically for math and writing. My math scores on state tests and other tests have been above average. Several papers and stories I've written have earned a... [more]

I have been in the field of education for three decades and I have taught and tutored all ages. I specialize in Geometry and Algebra (I and II) but I have also taught writing skills. I have been a classroom teacher, administrator, coach and tutor, so I have seen education from all vantage points. Most students I have worked with would describe me as knowledgeable, warm, friendly and patient. Let's face it - math can often be a maze of hieroglyphics and a complicated puzzle; GOOD tutoring ... I am a first year pre-med student enrolled at the University of North Texas. I would like to pursue a career in pediatric or sports physical medicine and rehabilitation. I have excelled in math since primary school, receiving a score of 710/800 on the math portion of the SAT, and high A's in higher level math classes like Calculus. I'm a really fun person, and like to think that I make learning fun as well. I have experience tutoring, but it is unofficial, and undocumented. I have been a l... [more]
