During my student teaching experience, I had the opportunity to take over the full load of 2 Algebra 1 classes. I created all of the lesson plans, quizzes, tests, and activities. If my students were to think of 3 words to describe me as a teacher, they would be exciting, insightful, and involving. When I ended my student teaching experience my students understood mathematics a lot better. Some Topics: Number Sense and Operations, Linear Equations, Inequalities, Proportions and Percents, Quadratic Functions, Radical/Rational Operations, and Graphing. [more]

The challenge of every algebra teacher is to understand how each student is thinking about these real things and how to get them thinking in terms of these new expressions. This challenge [more]
