I had aced my courses in calculus and differential equations back when I was studying engineering at NC State. I also have been tutoring math since graduation for over a year. Hello, prospective student. My name is Daniel. I studied the liberal arts at North Carolina State University and graduated in December 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in English (cum laude). My educational background is rooted across many subjects, and I often teach with an interdisciplinary approach. And although I could teach a diverse range of subjects, I strictly specialize in mathematics and the English language, spe [more]

Over 25 years, I have taught algebra at all academic levels, and am familiar with the evolution of algebra instruction from simple computations to application. I stress the development of basic skills and I often tell students and parents that learning algebra is much easier with a command of the "little" things, such as underlying properties, evaluation of answers and processes to the standard of reasonableness, etc. I believe that properly guided, students can be successful or even master algebra. In undergraduate studies, I was one class short of a Math minor. I spent most of my full time working schedule in 2015 tutoring math and science for high school students. This included Algebra I and all of the algebra basics. I can watch a student do problems and easily see where they go wrong and how best to fix their methods. I have always enjoyed teaching and tutoring. Even when I studied for my own classes, I would always study in groups and would help teach others concepts I had already mastered. My first official teaching position was as a Teacher's Assistant at Kalamazoo College in Gen [more]

Whenever I am working with a student, I strive to make learning easy and fun, and above all to explain concepts in ways that you can relate to. Not everyone learns the same way and that is okay! whether you or your student needs to clarify concepts or in depth work to bring them up to speed, my teaching style is tailored to each individual, using a pace that is appropriate. I strive to help students understand the core concepts and building blocks necessary to succeed not only in their curr... [more]

Hello! My journey in teaching started way back in sophomore year of high school when my Pre-calculus teacher asked me to tutor other students through the school's peer tutoring program. Since then, teaching has become one of my hobbies. I continued tutoring through both voluntary and paid positions in college while pursuing my degrees in chemical engineering and physics at the University of Minnesota. After graduating, I attended graduate school at the University of Illinois - Urbana-Champagn... [more]

I am a high school math teacher who has taught 7-12th grades in subjects including: 7th and 8th grade math, Algebra I and II, Geometry, Math 1-3 (common core), AP Statistics. I also am very familiar with NC Math 1 EOC content and NC Final Exams for Math 2 and 3. In the classroom and in my tutoring sessions I look to help students not "just learn material for the test or pass the course", rather I try to induce quicker arithmetic and critical thinking strategies that give students the abilit... I earned an A+ in Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, and Advanced Functions. Hi, I'm Abram! I am a chemistry student at Western Carolina University. I have 3 years of volunteer experience as a tutor working with 2nd - 5th graders at St. Ann Catholic School in Fayetteville, NC. My focus is to first connect with my students and understand which areas they need the most help in. I then build on my students' prior knowledge, introduce any new material, then guide them step-by-step through each lesson with the goal that they can do it alone by the end. Afterwards, I always... Hey there! I graduated from High School as Valedictorian and from there continued my education at the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana. I graduated with my Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. While there I maintained a 3.8 GPA. I also helped to create a Robotics Team and worked part time throughout my schooling. Engineering was a good fit for me because I have always had a particular interest in math and science. This is the first time I have done tutoring... [more]

Hello, My name is Rosemary. I currently work for Harnett County Schools. I began teaching in 2007 in special education and found that I really enjoy watching the light come on for students.
