Algebra has always been one of my favorite subjects to do and teach. There are always so many different ways to find the value of an unknown variable and I love that all of them always come to the same conclusion. My students always tell me that I am very good at breaking down a complex problem into small steps, and the process of solving an algebra problem lends itself well to exactly this method. I look forward to helping you or your student with their algebra skills. I am a former University of Kentucky student who has recently moved back to Lexington from the Nashville area. I am so excite [more]

I have a dual degree in physics and chemistry, and therefore have a strong background working math/science problems. I also have three years of experience teaching physics to undergraduate college students, which included teaching these types of math/science concepts. I earned a score of 36/36 on ACT Math and 750/800 on SAT Math. I've been teaching in various forms over the past eight years, and nothing has been more meaningful and exciting for me than helping students grow as independent learners! As part of my teaching philosophy, I don't just give students the answers - I ask questions to [more]

The goal of each and every algebra problem is to solve the variable by isolating it to one side of the equation. We achieve this by using the basic arithmetic while keeping in mind using the Golden Rule of Algebra: what you do to one side of the equation, you must do to the other side. First off, a bit about me: I was born in Bulgaria but have lived here in Lexington over fifteen years. I attended Julius Marks Elementary, Winburn Middle, and Paul Laurence Dunbar High School, where I also graduated from MSTC (the Math, Science and Technology Center). I'm currently a Computer Science Major and [more]

I have a California K-12 Multiple Subject (any classroom, any subject) credential and a Kentucky P-5 Teaching Credential with a High School/Middle School Mathematics endorsement. I have been a classroom instructor in this level of Algebra for twenty years. My skill set strength is explaining the algebra problem solving process in such a way that every student not only understands how but why and soon achieves mastery. During that time I was twice nominated for a Disney Golden Apple Award (excellence in teaching), served on the State Math Curriculum Committee, was a Master teacher in my Distr [more]

I'm Boniface! I hold a masters degree in chemistry. I graduated magnum cum laude with a BSc. in Chemistry, and a minor in Biology at the undergraduate level. I have always agreed to the adage that experience is the best teacher; my eager to help others started in my infancy. Hello, I am a UK student majoring in Mathematics. I am early in the phase of major studies, but have been asked by classmates in college Algebra to tutor them. My tutoring students have been very pleased with the attention that I provided. They were able to accomplish what they thought was not possible at the start. I really enjoy working with those who say that they dislike math. I have a very patient approach. I enjoy working one-on-one with students, giving them the attention that is nee... [more]
