Algebra represents a fundamental transition and new way of thinking for every math student. Many students, myself included, needed some help making that transition, but once it's made the subject can be surprisingly easy. I attempt to tutor to the student by presenting it in a way that the student can receive it. I like teaching the fundamentals. They help the student in the math that follows. I tutor in a way that meets the student's understanding. I don't follow any teaching method. I just explain and allow the student to demonstrate that they understand and can do the work. If they don't, I try to explain in a different way. I have had a student from algebra through geometry. She did not understand how her teacher was explaining it to her or she would forget. I have over ten years of experience teaching algebra 1 in the classroom and one-on-one. Algebra 1 was hard for me when I was first learning in middle school, so I know what it's like to see a variable and freeze. Over the years I've worked hard to take the abstract in algebra and make it concrete. Let's work together! I am an experienced tutor, focusing on Math, Science, and SAT/ACT Prep. I have over 10 years of experience, and I specialize in taking hard concepts in math and science and making them relatable to anyone. I build confidence one problem at a time.
