Hi, my name is Rachel, and I love to help students understand what they're learning in school. As a graduate of Biola University, I have found myself in a position to help students with what they do not understand. Since then, I have had the opportunity to regularly help students both with their homework and to help them learn concepts t... [more]

I've worked with students of all ages. I spent 5 years working at the University of Washington in the Computer Science Department helping pre-majors with Math and Computer Science courses. I love math and so does your student! They just may not know it yet. When students struggle and give up it makes me genuinely sad. So I believe it's crucial to turn things around at an earlier age, to have students meet their own potentials. Let's get started with Algebra 1! Hi future students and parents!!! My name is Aki, and I was a Physics/Calculus teacher at a small private school located in San Diego. Now, I've relocated to Portland and am a full time tutor, dedicating all my attention to the success of each and every student I have. I've started tutoring in 2012 at a prestigious tutor [more]

She was two months from taking a job in Europe, so you can understand the stress if she wasn't able to pass. We met after her first exam which she scored a 62% on, after our tutoring twice a week she was able to overall get a B in the class. I expressed to her not to be discouraged by her first grade, it's all up hill from here, and we went over her homework and I showed her how once you can do one problem you can apply those steps to all the problems.
