I have formally taught (and tutored) algebra I at the middle school and high school levels. I have also tutored a number of adults through college algebra. Over the years I have found that most students who have trouble with math missed or did not understand some basic concept from early on in their education. Since math is so cumulative, this small deficit mushrooms into a seemingly insurmountable problem. It is not. Let's find it and fix it. "But that's easy!" is the response I hope for and often get when I teach. I have been a licensed secondary (grades 6-12) teacher for over ten years. M [more]

I am a current graduate student at Wichita State University, working on obtaining my doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Throughout my educational career, I have sought opportunities to assist others as they were on their own educational paths. One of the things I absolutely adore with tutoring and teaching others is the spark of when someone finally 'gets it'. They've been struggling with whatever the task at hand is, and their hard work pays off - providing an a-ha moment. The smile, the ... [more]

I am currently a middle school science and math teacher in the Andover area. I love teaching! One of my favorite things about teaching is helping students one on one who are struggling in certain areas. Though math and science were always easy subjects for me to understand, I know that is not always the case for everyone, and I love helping others over come their struggles in these areas. Currently I teaching science in middle school, but I have taught math for many years in middle sc... [more]

My passion is teaching. I have taught and tutored mostly middle school and high school students. Math found its way to me. Let me explain: I have always had an interest in math, science and reading. However, it never came very easy to me. I realized that I was just as smart as my peers, but the information just came to me in a different way. I taught myself how to study and I would figure out another way to do a math problem so that it made sense to me. I learned that I am a problem ... [more]

After graduating high school I continued my education at Emporia State University. While attending Emporia State, I played 4 years of varsity tennis and later graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Education. Even though Education was not my first choice to major in, I immediately fell in love with it and realized how much potential I had as an educator. I absolutely love to educate others and make my pupils realize their own potential within themselves. I specialize in mathematics, spe... [more]

Math is and always has been my passion! I'm blessed that understanding math comes so easy to me, so I jump at any opportunity to share my tips and tricks and understanding with others who are struggling with math. There's nothing like helping one progress in something I hold very close to my heart! I was attending Wichita State University majoring in Mathematics but decided to take a break from school to be a stay at home mother and focus on my children until they are in school. I am conside... I have tutored for several years now from elementary-age to college students. My more formal positions were as a math tutor up to Calculus II at Wichita State and a lunch tutor (in all subjects) at Robinson Middle School. My job as a tutor is to not only teach you what you need to know, but to help you develop the skills to effectively learn and study on your own. At least once in your life (probably a majority of the time in my experience), you'll experience a teacher that has a teaching... [more]
