I got a BS in Mathematics from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology in 1991. After teaching high school for three years in El Paso, Texas, and teaching middle school math in Belen, New Mexico, I returned to New Mexico Tech to obtain my Master's Degree in Mathematics. I taught at the Valencia branch college of the University of New Mexico for approximately five years. I taught all levels of algebra, Calculus, and discrete math. After retiring, I have tutored in my home - mostl... [more]

This class I took at the beginning of my junior year in high school due to passing my geometry class I took in the summer. I got an A both semesters of my junior year. I requested my teacher if I could take precalculus my senior year instead of taking trigonometry. I wanted a challenge, and be ready to take calculus my freshman year in college. I got approved to take precalculus due to getting an A in regular Algebra II. Recently, I tutored a Senior in high school in algebra, and helped him pass so that he could graduate with his graduating class. [more]

I have tutored math of all levels including Algebra 2 while studying for my math degree at UNM. Hey I'm John! Growing up with teachers for parents, I have had a lifelong love of teaching and especially teaching math. When given the opportunities to teach math classes and take a job as a science tutor in college, I jumped at the chances. Once I finished with my bachelors in applied mathematics (and minor in chemistry) I spent a year teaching at a small high school in Albuquerque, NM before deciding to return to school to pursue a graduate degree in math. As a masters student, I accept... [more]

I have six years of teaching experience in undergraduate chemistry, including TA experience, one-on-one tutoring, and as an instructor at UNM (2016) and CNM (2016-present). My basic philosophy in teaching is to encourage students to ask questions, especially in the sciences. I enjoy teaching groups of students but feel that I connect even better in one-on-one sessions where instructor/student dialogue is most helpful. In teaching chemistry, which many students find difficult because it is ha... [more]

I taught/tutored college algebra for two years at Georgia State University. My name is Jon and I am currently 26 years old. I have my bachelor's degree in mathematics and three semesters of graduate school complete in mathematics. I have taught high school math for one year and worked on the college level for two in the Georgia State Math department. I have tutored at tutoring centers and privately for about six years now. Other than math I love to get outdoors to hike and backpack and other things. If I can help you then shoot me a message. Thanks!... [more]

Algebra 2 builds on the skills learned in Algebra 1 and digs further into variable mathematics. Topics include: functions and graphing (linear, quadratic, logarithmic, exponential), complex numbers, systems of equations and inequalities, and relations. This can also include beginning trigonometry and probability and statistics. My name is Melissa and I love helping students achieve success in Mathematics. During my time at Carroll University, I tutored for 3 of my 4 years, both on and off campus. During my final year there, I was tutoring the majority of the courses we offered, on top of [more]

Hi I am Arnab, I am a 2nd year PhD student at UNM in the department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, I graduated with my Master's and Bachelor's in Physics with a minor in Chemistry. One thing that really gets me going is the fact that the real world is defined by equations and the realization moment that bridges the gap between the two is the defining knowledge for me and that's what I strive to bring into my teachings. During my bachelor's and master's the most interesting classes we... [more]

In middle school, I discovered my passion for math. Ever since then, I have been tutoring people around me. First it was classmates, then students from other grades, and eventually from other schools. This love for math made me decide to obtain a double major in statistics and economics and then go on for a masters in finance. While I was a student at the masters degree, I got invited to teach at the undergraduate level, which I accepted. And from there on, I became a fulI time high sc... [more]

I received an A in algebra 2 in high school and took math classes through differential equations 2 in college and earned a minor in mathematics. Hey! I'm Anna! I graduated Suma Cum Laude in chemical engineering with a minor in mathematics at Mississippi State University, and this fall I will begin graduate school in nuclear engineering at the University of New Mexico. During my time at school, I served as a grader and lead homework help sessions in thermodynamics. I also privately tutored two friends of a friend in algebra and chemistry. Math, specifically algebra and calculus, was my favor [more]

I am currently a student at UNM working on my PhD in Linguistics. I have had a lot of experience and success as a teacher and tutor. If a student is not understanding a concept, I will look for alternative ways to approach the topic until the student has that "aha!" moment. Those are the moments I live for as a teacher. As a student of languages and linguistics, I can tutor any level of French and most levels of Spanish. I can also tutor in English writing and grammar. On the math side, I ... [more]
