I studied high school math at Phillips Exeter, a top ranked prep school, and I draw heavily on Exeter's Harkness method of teaching with my math students. I use practice problems and a conceptual approach to allow my students to gain a deeper understanding of what they are learning. This method allows my students to become comfortable with the underlying ideas behind the material, instead of having to memorize long lists of formulae. My students tell me that working with me on algebra improves their confidence and their grades. [more]
