I am a senior at UGA, double majoring in Math and Exercise and Sports Science. Throughout college, I have helped fellow students understand concepts in math, science, Spanish, and English. I have also helped proof read papers. Additionally, I have previous experience tutoring math. I believe that repetition and understanding are key to learning. I recently graduated with my PhD in Civil Engineering at Oregon State University and I am currently working at a consulting engineering firm in Portland. I gained quite a bit of experience in tutoring during my Master's degree where I was a Graduate Teaching Assistant for its entirety, and I would say that my love of tutoring started during that time. The best part about tutoring is the challenge of finding the right way to explain a topic such that the student can connect with it. I firml... [more]
