In high school, I placed first in a number of Math Team competitions and completed Calculus III, Statistics, and Differential Equations; I then expanded upon my mathematical knowledge at Georgia Tech with myriad math-based engineering courses, Linear Algebra, and Random Signals. I practiced professionally as an electrical engineer prior to medical school, and currently teach math ranging from Elementary Math through Differential Equations and Discrete Math. I work to formulate an engaging lesson plan for any learning style, and endeavor to make a frequently under-appreciated subject accessibl [more]

I have a PhD in physics with an extensive background in mathematics. I teach at a small liberal arts university outside of Birmingham. My teaching background has been developed with a lot of one-on-one and small group teaching opportunities. I love to teach the background behind the concept so that you aren't learning how to just plug in the numbers; you are learning how to take the problem apart and see how it works. Due to my affiliation with the university I am currently employed with, I ... [more]

I am a former math teacher and I have taught all math subjects through Calculus 1. I have been tutoring for over 20 years with consistent results! I pride myself on keeping up with the latest methods to make math easy. My approach to tutoring is founded on one simple concept - UNDERSTANDING! Showing a student how to work a specific problem is not the answer to mastering the material. I teach the how's and why's of the problem, so they will be able to solve it themselves, and transfer that kn... [more]

I tutored Algebra II professionally for 15 years. I first started tutoring as a peer helper in high school. I had been told by many of my classmates that I had a gift for tutoring. Many of my classmates said that I made the lessons simpler and easier to understand. I continued tutoring through undergraduate school, and I began tutoring professionally immediately after graduation. As a teacher, I would often tutor other students who were not enrolled in my classes. I would do this for free, as my primary objective was helping the students rea... [more]

I have tutored Algebra 2 in the Math Emporium at WCSU for 3 years. I work through homework problems and challenge students with variations of problems they have done. I like to be creative in my teaching by drawing world applications. I graduated with a BA in Chemistry (ACS Biochemistry option) from Western Connecticut State University. I worked as an Organic Synthesis Research Assistant for the Whitesides Research Group at Harvard University. I am currently in a combined DMD/PhD program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, pursuing a PhD in Organic/Medicinal Chemistry and a Doctor of D [more]

Algebra 2, like Algebra 1, uses similar concepts. An integral part of the learning process begins with Algebra 1 skills and develops into Algebra 2 skills. Algebra 2 is fundamental for successful knowledge of the ACT/SAT skill set needed for testing! I am currently a graduate student working towards a masters degree in education. Prior to this degree, I earned my master's degree in clinical psychology, where I gained significant experience in statistics and statistical analysis. I currently tutor students in business statistics, social sciences statistics, and other areas of math such as a [more]

I've spent much of my time on WyzAnt tutoring Algebra 2. My college math courses included Calculus. Before having my last two children, I spent time working in the UAB Genetics department. I was a cytogenetic technician. We processed and harvested blood, bone marrow, and amniotic fluid. We were then able to see actual chromosomes under a microscope and analyze for abnormalities. It was incredible and very tricky. I am a mother of 4 and a UAB alumna, having majored in Biology with a chemistry minor. I graduated cum laude with a 3.7 math and science GPA. While I absolutely love the sci.. [more]

I have a great understanding and grasp on the subject of Algebra. In high school I was able to skip over Algebra 1 and take Honors Algebra 2 because of my high math placement.
