I love math and I look at each math problem as a puzzle to solve. I use this philosophy when I help others with math, including Algebra 2. Many times, difficulty with math can be traced to a misunderstanding of math basics. Once these gaps are resolved, math becomes easier. I love helping students improve their math and reading skills. Many times, students need additional coaching in school subjects to improve their understanding. Using my Master's degree in Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and experience as a classroom teacher, I can help you succeed in the classroom. M [more]

In high school, I placed first in a number of Math Team competitions and completed Calculus III, Statistics, and Differential Equations; I then expanded upon my mathematical knowledge at Georgia Tech with myriad math-based engineering courses, Linear Algebra, and Random Signals. I practiced professionally as an electrical engineer prior to medical school, and currently teach math ranging from Elementary Math through Differential Equations and Discrete Math. I work to formulate an engaging lesson plan for any learning style, and endeavor to make a frequently under-appreciated subject accessibl [more]

I have tutored the subject for a number of years and my students have been able to improve at least two letter grades. My name is Nicole B. and I am an experienced tutor who is new to the Birmingham area. I just recently finished my PhD in Chemistry from Louisiana State University and since I am new to city I am looking to again build up my tutoring business. I am able to tutor most subjects, however I do specialize in math and science. I also can help with Spanish. I have over 10 years of tutoring experience and have the ability to work with any student, ranging from grade school to adults. I [more]

I have tutored Algebra 2 in the Math Emporium at WCSU for 3 years. I work through homework problems and challenge students with variations of problems they have done. I like to be creative in my teaching by drawing world applications. I graduated with a BA in Chemistry (ACS Biochemistry option) from Western Connecticut State University. I worked as an Organic Synthesis Research Assistant for the Whitesides Research Group at Harvard University. I am currently in a combined DMD/PhD program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, pursuing a PhD in Organic/Medicinal Chemistry and a Doctor of D [more]

I have plenty of knowledge about equations. For Algebra 2, I was helping more with trigonometry, Exponential and logarithmic functions, Equations and inequalities, matrices and functions. I was mostly focused on Equations, Functions and trigonometry in order to get them a good foundation before they move up to precalculus. I am Fabien M. I graduated from the university of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) with a bachelor of science in civil engineering. But before that I was in community college in Ivory Coast and I was the president of the mathematics club, teacher assistant and tutor. As the Pres [more]

I?m a retired engineer that has proficiently used algebra and trig for over 30 years and Microsoft Excel for over 20 years. Throughout my career, I have helped family members and friends overcome their difficulties with math and have assisted many with Excel. I enjoy seeing the excitement on the faces of both young and old when they master a subject that has gotten the best of them. I took 21 hours of math (algebra through differential equations) while getting engineering degree. I not onl... [more]

Algebra 2, like Algebra 1, uses similar concepts. An integral part of the learning process begins with Algebra 1 skills and develops into Algebra 2 skills. Algebra 2 is fundamental for successful knowledge of the ACT/SAT skill set needed for testing! I am currently a graduate student working towards a masters degree in education. Prior to this degree, I earned my master's degree in clinical psychology, where I gained significant experience in statistics and statistical analysis. I currently tutor students in business statistics, social sciences statistics, and other areas of math such as a [more]

I tutored Algebra II professionally for 15 years. I first started tutoring as a peer helper in high school. I had been told by many of my classmates that I had a gift for tutoring. Many of my classmates said that I made the lessons simpler and easier to understand. I continued tutoring through undergraduate school, and I began tutoring professionally immediately after graduation. As a teacher, I would often tutor other students who were not enrolled in my classes. I would do this for free, as my primary objective was helping the students rea... [more]

As an undergrad, one of my majors was math, so I have a solid baseline in the subject as a whole. In addition, I have experience mentoring students in an AP Calculus prep program - which is heavily based in Algebra 2, as well as trig - and I have privately tutored one-on-one for Alg 2/Trig I?m currently in Birmingham for the year as Americorps volunteer with Impact America! I just graduated with a degree in math and economics, and I would like to share my knowledge and passion for these subjects with as many students as possible. I have experience working with high school students on AP prep [more]
