Algebra II and College Algebra are fairly similar, and I teach both more often that almost any subject (next to Geometry perhaps). I have been teaching this subject for over five years now, and have the topics down to a science. There is a clean progression from topic to topic when Algebra II is taught correctly, and with my experience the class can be made to be enjoyable and fully understandable. As the oldest of four, I have taught since a very early age. I officially started tutoring in high school through the Math Club, and have tutored at the HCC campuses of Southshore, Brandon, and Plan [more]

This year I have had a lot of algebra 2 honors students. One of them came to me with a 28 grade point average. She now has a 90+ grade point average. As I share a few insights, they can often grasp and succeed in areas of algebra 2 that prior were not understood. Success is often a state of mind and I approach tutoring with the idea that the student feel like they are succeeding in even the smallest areas of improvement. This often carries over to making their dreams of not only passing but increasing their grades by many letters come true. [more]

I tutored twenty two students in algebra II while working for The Tutoring Club of Hilliard. During high school, I was a peer tutor for twelve algebra II students. Since moving to Florida in 2013, I've tutored several more high school algebra II students. I have several dozen hours of experience tutoring students in this subject. The material taught in this class varies from state to state and even from school district to school district. Some algebra II classes include topics that other algebra two classes do not. For example, some algebra II classes have a chapter on trigonometry while other [more]

I began college as a tuba/jazz performance major and at some point realized that music was not the path for me. While taking my general education requirements, I came to find that I enjoy the thrill of math and science. I still work as a musician but appreciate music more because of my math skills. I recently relocated from the northeast to Wesley Chapel, FL in order to be closer to family and be as far away from those cold snowy winters as possible. For the better part of 10 years I played professional poker, which requires a high level of intelligence, keen observation and adaptability, and a strong foundation in mathematics. On top of that, I started a private SAT prep business with a former English Professor in Philadelphia in 2004. He took care of the English, I took care of t... [more]
