I have been tutoring algebra 2 for over ten years. It is one of my favorite subjects to tutor. I am very familiar with all of the concepts, and I can explain them in ways that work for the student. I also am very familiar with calculator strategies to make it easier to check your answers. My name is Abbey and I'd love to be your tutor. I have been tutoring for over ten years. I am a former MIT student and I graduated from UAlbany with a BS in Mathematics and Statistics and a minor in Economics. I have a lot of experience tutoring. While I was in Albany, I worked with three private local [more]

Hi my name is Matt and I am a Graduate Physics student at the University at Buffalo. I graduated in 2017 with a degree in Physics and a minor in mathematics. After my completion of graduate school, I will pursue becoming a research professor at a top tier university. I have been tutoring through Wyzant for nearly three years now. My tutoring experience extends outside of my time here with Wyzant to my early years as an undergraduate and sometime in High School. I specialize in tutoring A... [more]

Although I was a meteorologist for 40 years I always loved math more than anything and always wanted to teach students who found math a challenge or difficult. I have had almost 8 years of experience tutoring math including algebra, geometry, trig, SAT Math and GED math. I have helped students understand and have found it more rewarding than my career.... I truly enjoy seeing those I teach "get it" and have that "ah ha" moment. A structural engineer by trade, I have to continually learn new things each and every day. It's my job! Math is my specialty of course, but I don't fit the mold as a typical engineer as I enjoy interacting with people too. Tutoring experience? Well...besides the hours on wyzant tutoring mostly algebra and trigonometry I have previously volunteered to teach at engineering outreach events at the Buffalo Museum of Sci... [more]

I received a 100 and a 98 on my Algebra I and Algebra II Regents in New York, and enrolled in the Gifted Math Program from 7th grade onward. Through this program, highly qualified middle school students would attend college level math classes (6 credits a semester) on top of their normal schoolwork, for both semesters every year all the way through senior year of high school. I also received a 790/800 on my SAT Math and a 35/36 on my ACT Math sections, which are primarily Algebra 2 based. I'm a recent graduate of the University of Virginia's Biomedical Engineering program. From an early age I [more]

Although in college I focused on the humanities, I have always had a thing with numbers. In high school, I finished my year by taking and acing the BC Calculus AP exam. With my higher math education, algebra 2 comes quickly to me. I would love to show your student how to succeed in math even if it isn't their strongest area. Hello! My name is Brooke, and I am a recent graduate of Oklahoma State University with degrees in English, Spanish, and Geography. Now, I am attending graduate school to obtain my Ph.D. in English Literature from SUNY, Buffalo. My primary interest is the collegiate and gra [more]

I am very capable of tutoring in Algebra 2. It seems that many students these days have the most difficulty with math. I think this in part do the lack of pattern recognition (that is, the student sees every problem has new instead of variations on similar concepts). I have been involved in scientific research for 20+ years both in academia and industry. I have a PhD in Pharmacology and a BS in Biochemistry. I was an Assistant Professor at a medical college and more recently an entrepreneur in biotech startup companies. So what you really want to know is how would I tutor? My approach [more]

I have tutored at various levels. While in High School and in college, I have tutored from Pre Calculus all the way to Proof based courses and more theory based classes. I love teaching Algebra and Trigonometry the most but I can tutor anything from Calculus, Trig, Physics, Proofs, Numerical Analysis, Linear Algebra, and more. In High School specifically I tutored Pre Calculus, Geometry, Algebra I and Trigonometry and Chemistry. Once I entered college as a Math Major, I tutored local High Sch... [more]

I have worked in the non-profit world for 25 years. I have a lot of experience putting together written communications, doing computer programming, and working with databases and database management systems. While that summarizes most of my work experience, it does not include perhaps my strongest passion of all...math. I have a bachelors degree in math from Canisius College, and it is something I have always loved. I would very much be interested in joining your organization and tuto... [more]

Hello, My name is John and I just recently graduated SUNY Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering Technology. My tutoring experience is little to none. However, I have helped out my fellow classmates in achieving good results on their calculus 1 tests and I have an excellent grasp on mathematics up to that point. I feel like your sons or daughters who come to help through me will achieve higher learning skills through a nice, easy going and relaxing e... [more]
