At Cal State Fullerton, I taught Algebra II to a class of mostly international students. My students were comfortable asking me questions and coming to me during office hours for extra help. At Norco College, I regularly tutored Algebra II and had many students who would specifically ask for me because I was patient and explained ideas clearly. I have learned multiple ways of explaining the same concept so that I can communicate effectively with different students. My passion for mathematics began when I was in 11th grade. As a homeschooled student, I had a flexible schedule which allowed me [more]

I taught this subject for many years and can lecture entire curriculum by memory. I know of the common mistakes students make in applying many of the concepts. I can also teach tips and tricks that will facilitate mastery of the topics. In my 15 plus years of tutoring, I've had the pleasure of working many students from all walks of life and with a wide range of abilities. My favorite part of tutoring and helping students is being there to witness their "ah ha!" moment. The moment of true and pure understanding. The revelation that it all works, so long as they apply the right tools and c [more]

Previous High school math teacher - Algebra 2, Geometry, Fundamentals of Math 10 I have always had a passion for education and talent for mathematics. I have extensive experience both sitting in a desk and standing in the front of classroom developed through years of experience in both. I grew up in SoCal and attended Iowa State University on a full scholarship. After graduating with a BS in Mathematics, I moved to Las Vegas and became a high school math teacher. I took Algebra 2 as a freshman in high school and got an A both semesters, tutoring my fellow older classmates as we were learning it. Math is my favorite subject and I have been tutoring all throughout high school. Last year I completed Calculus BC and got a 5 (the highest possible score) on the AP Test. This year, I was chosen to represent my high school at a Women in Industry Conference, focusing on women in STEM subjects/careers. This year, I am one of two students at my high school taking Calculus 3 at CSUF. Because I am in high school and likely younger than several other tutors, it w [more]

I have been in many calculus classes that use algebra 2 on a daily bases as a college student. I am currently a college student at Santiago Canyon College studying Mechanical Engineering. Ever since I was young, science and math subjects have been the peak of my interest because of how life around us obeys by the invisible rules set by them. As I grew older, I realized many people don't understand or don't value the magic of numbers the way I do. That's when I realized I could make a difference in people's lives by reaching out to them and helping them understand the concepts of math. ... [more]

I graduated from UCLA in 2009 as a Mathematics-Economics major. During my time at UCLA, and after graduating, I have tutored mathematics to students from elementary school through college. What I enjoy most about tutoring is the gratification I receive from my students' growth. I have learned over the years that students need a tutor who is patient, knowledgeable, and knows how to keep a student's attention, which are qualities I bring to every tutoring session. My goal in tutoring is to s... [more]

I hold a BS from UC Irvine (doubled major in math and bio science). I was selected to teach algebra in the federally sponsored Upward Bound program in which students live on the UC campus during the summer. I make frequent use of hands-on algebra tools to give students visual, aural and manual input on manipulating algebraic equations. Students see their scores and grades rise. My love of teaching stems from a life-long pursuit of the truth of how things work. As a graduate of the University of California, Irvine (double majoring in math and biological science), I can look back on many exampl [more]

I've completed mathematics training through differential equations, Calculus of multiple variables, linear algebra, boolean algebra, symbolic logic, etc. Hello, I'm a graduated Physicist with LOTS of experience in tutoring. I really love to help people and tend to be able to help students other tutors struggle with. My communication skills are very strong and I hope to use them to benefit you. There's nothing more rewarding than when someone finally "gets it" and not just able to "do the steps". I have tutored at Cal Poly in Physics for two years with students of ages 18-30yrs old. Prior to [more]

Hi I'm Kishan! I recently graduated magna cum laude from UC Davis in Neurobiology, Physiology, & Behavior. I spent over three years in college tutoring chemistry, biology, and calculus. My approach and success in tutoring comes from the time I spend outside of the tutoring session. I individualize my lessons to each student, which is what allows for their``` success! Beyond STEM classes, I have taught for a test prep company and have extensive expertise in teaching both the SAT and ACT. P... [more]

I moved from China before 10th grade and I had all the Chinese education before high school. I was born in Shanghai and stayed there for 16 years.
