Before retiring I taught Beginning and Intermediate Algebra (in a classroom) over 100 times. I have current lesson plans, practice materials, quizzes and tests and study-skill information that will be helpful to students. I use an individualized interactive student-centered approach to my teaching. Each student's level, ability, strengths and weaknesses are evaluated before we begin. Goals are agreed upon and lessons are prepared to personally accommodate each student. This has been a successful approach for teaching large groups as well as one-on-one. [more]

I tutored after school for my last two years in High School. While I was attending University of Central Florida, I also did online tutoring specifically for math subjects. I know that I can teach this difficult subject in the simplest ways. Everyone I have helped told me they were surprised at how easy it is once I explain it to them. I love that I am able to teach a subject that seems difficult to most. I really want to get back into tutoring partly because I know the best way to lea... [more]

My name is Jerry and I've been tutoring all levels of HS and college Math and Physics for the past 7 years. I enjoy helping students, and my students like the way I explain hard to understand concepts in Math and Physics. I believe in a "simplistic" approach to teaching Math and Physics. I strive to teach Math and Physics without a lot of theoretical jargon and I teach a methodical approach to solving problems. While at the University of Arizona, I majored in Nuclear Engineering; I have a... [more]

Greetings, Personal development is a process that occurs at every stage of one?s life and allows one to realize a potential that arises within the heart of our boldest dreams. Tutoring offers a profound level of engagement, wherein both the student and the tutor define and refine goals along their pursuit of excellence. I agree with Howard Gardner?s conclusion that there are multiple learning styles, yet seek to define an accurate means to appeal to a student?s learning style in a man... [more]

Algebra 2 is a continuation of Algebra 1 that covers multiple equations and graphing. I have taught at the University of Phoenix for over 14 years in Computers, Financial Planning, Information Technology and Algebra I and II. I use handouts for my students that help to solve Algebra problems much easier and will always come to the correct solution on how to solve polynomials. I love to graph and show the student that there are only 4 formulas to remember to graph any problem, even with multiple equations. [more]
