I am able to teach and help students understand topics from algebra to calculus. Often times, algebra is rushed through without the proper framework. With the right structure, it can definitely be learned. I have assisted many students in identifying any underlying deficiencies math fundamentals, which often make learning algebra more difficult than it should be. Learning has always been a passion in my life. Academic learning, life experience, motivational books. Just name it. I have helped and tutored grade levels from elementary to college, where I majored in Chemical Engineering. I took ti [more]

Algebra 2 can be a tricky subject. I remember when I took it, I felt that it was a much bigger jump in difficulty from Algebra 1 to 2 than from Pre-algebra to Algebra 1. I remember seeing matrices for the first time and having no clue what was going on. However, after a little practice, they became one of my favorite parts of the class. I ended up doing very well in my class, all while helping out just about every single one of my friends that was in my class. I completed math coursework required for Engineering. Which includes the Calculus series. Calculus is simply a lot of Algebra. I'm a graduate of Cal Poly State University, where I acquired my Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Engineering while concentrating in Computers. In addition to my curriculum in Electronics, my coursework included Chemistry, General to Advanced Physics, and Mathematics from Algebra to Calculus to Fourier Analysis. My career has its foundation in semiconductor electronics, computer CPUs and Networking. Coupled with my personal skills and creativeness that allowed me to [more]

I did some tutoring while in high school and also helped out in the special education classroom during high school. I graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a BS in Neuroscience in June 2013 and I am currently a graduate student in Pharmacology at UC Davis. I have tutored in precalc, algebra 2 and biology already through WyzAnt, and I am certified to tutor up through calculus. I am available most evenings and would like to help others to be as excited about these subjects as I am. Thanks for... [more]

I skipped a year of math in middle school and started learning algebra I in 7th grade by recommendation from my math teachers in elementary and middle school due to my proficiency in mathematics, which allowed me to start algebra II my freshman year of high school and take two years of calculus my junior/senior years. I graduated from the University of California, Davis with a Bachelor's of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. What I enjoyed the most about my major was the opportunity to tutor/teach a Microbiology lab my senior year. Learning interesting subject matter in the biologi [more]

I am a retired engineer and I tutored math for over 35 years. I have strong knowledge of Algebra II concepts. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Engineering and have tutored since 1970. I started out as a Math class assistant, helping low-grade students, in my college Sophomore year. That opportunity helped me realize my passion to teach and, hence, I started offering tutorial sessions, while I was employed as an environmental engineer. Math and Science were my favorite subjects since Grade school. I, therefore, possess the knowledge and the passion to teach bo [more]

I was a supplemental instructor at Chaffey College for a school year in College Algebra. During the sessions, I would review the day's lesson plan, the key concepts for the lesson and provide clarification on the application of the concepts. In helping students with their homework and extra practice problems, students were able to raise their grade a whole letter than it was before. More so, I have completed the college math sequence up to Calculus 2 with A's in each course.
