I've been tutoring HS Algebra 2 and college level Intermediate Algebra for 40+ years. I have experience tutoring military veterans working for college degrees. My goal is to instill a working understanding of the subject ahead of the class. Then when the instructor goes over the same subject matter, it is a review and a stronger understanding by the student is obtained. I've been tutoring students for the past 40 years, on a part-time basis. I have also coached girls softball for over 20 years and age-group swimming for 15 years. I have tutored students through all of the high school mathematics levels from Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry and Pre-Calc since 2007 during my time at UConn. However, there are always times where many of us feel that we can't communicate with a teacher or just have a difficult time with the information being presented. I believe that my tutoring methods specifically help those who simply want to understand the material in a way that can be explained to the general public. Throughout college I helped countless classma [more]

I thoroughly enjoy working with students - it's especially heart-warming to help a student who is struggling and perhaps discouraged - to watch them light up as they understand their work, regain their skills, and once again look forward to going to class! I'm a patient, friendly, and very effective tutor for science and math students in grades 7-12, with skills and instincts honed over many years of teaching and tutoring - and so I sincerely look forward to helping you and your child.
