I have six years experience teaching high school math. Since staying home to raise my own children I have tutored half a dozen students in math -- half of these in Algebra 2. I have also spent the last three years substitute teaching preschool through high school. We have just moved back to Hawaii and I plan on going back to teaching high school math, but thought I would start substitute teaching and then I saw the advertisement for a tutor needed in Algebra 2 in Mililani which seemed perf... Algebra is one of the fundamental areas of mathematics. Algebra is a logic system that uses symbols to represent relationships between quantities. Algebra is used to solve all sorts of problems, from accounting to manufacturing. Algebra topics that I tutor include nomenclature, inequalities, word problems, quadratics, substitutions, rational expressions and equations, systems of equations, and many more, as well as all related and prerequisite concepts. I have tutored many students in Algebra over the past few years. [more]

I've tutored students from grade school to college levels, up to and including Calculus II and College Physics. Whether I am working with fellow students at Penn State's Learning Center or students at home, my passion for education comes through in my teaching methods, as I believe that all students have the ability to learn a subject as long as it is presented to them in a manner they are able to grasp. I use both analytical as well as graphical methods as needed to cater to each student. Ha... [more]

For as long as I can remember, I've loved teaching. I began as a peer tutor of Spanish and math in high school, and later I made a living teaching English to locals and Japanese to fellow foreigners during the four years I lived in Japan after graduation from college. After returning to the U.S., I spent two years teaching "behind the scenes" as an author and editor of online accounting homework problems for Aplia (part of Cengage Learning). I now spend most of my days offering standardized t... [more]

I've tutored various students in this subject. I've also gone to a highly accredited university, and graduated with a high GPA in Biochemistry which included a year of calculus My passion for teaching others comes from my own learning experiences, and the great teachers I personally had throughout my education. In sophomore year of high school, I struggled with my honors chemistry class. I was not aware of how difficult a class like that can be, especially for someone like me who had not taken chemistry before. I failed my first exam horribly, despite feeling okay about it after taking it. Hav [more]

Hi, I?m Kayla! I have experience teaching middle school and high school math in both public and private schools, having taught every level of math between pre-algebra to pre-calculus. I graduated from Washington State University in May 2012 with a B.S. in Theoretical Mathematics and a minor in Physics. Going through this difficult process with a wife and two young children, I recognize the challenges modern families face. Since graduating, I have started helping friends and other students with their studies, and found I have quite a knack for breaking down complex ideas and making them easy to understand. I thoroughly enjoy teaching, and I can honestly say that tutoring... [more]
