Algebra is one of the fundamental areas of mathematics. Algebra is a logic system that uses symbols to represent relationships between quantities. Algebra is used to solve all sorts of problems, from accounting to manufacturing. Algebra topics that I tutor include nomenclature, inequalities, word problems, quadratics, substitutions, rational expressions and equations, systems of equations, and many more, as well as all related and prerequisite concepts. I have tutored many students in Algebra over the past few years. [more]

I have 10+ years experience teaching the material from Algebra 2. I love breaking down difficult concepts into step by step processes that students can reliably execute. I can provide a refresher from Algebra 1 if necessary, or a bridge to pre-calculus if desired. I have over 14 years of tutoring experience, have been formally trained as a tutor, and have even won a National Tutor of the Year award for my work with one education company. I graduated summa cum laude from the University of Washington with degrees in Linguistics and Psychology, and a master's degree in Second Language Studies fro [more]

For as long as I can remember, I've loved teaching. I began as a peer tutor of Spanish and math in high school, and later I made a living teaching English to locals and Japanese to fellow foreigners during the four years I lived in Japan after graduation from college. After returning to the U.S., I spent two years teaching "behind the scenes" as an author and editor of online accounting homework problems for Aplia (part of Cengage Learning). I now spend most of my days offering standardized t... [more]

I have a Ph.D. in Microbiology, Immunology, and Cancer from the University of Virginia. I was a TA, lab demonstrator, college tutor. I also tutored elementary to high school students part time. I enjoy teaching and take pride in imparting knowledge to my students. It is always rewarding to see students improve their grades, but most of all, I love it when they have those "eureka" moments. I have always been excellent at Math. I scored 780 on the math section of the SAT and 800 (perfect score... [more]

Hello. I am a lifelong learner of math and science who likes to connect the dots, and I would like to share what I have learned. I have taught algebra and trigonometry in college. I have also tutored high school and college algebra, calculus, and everything in between for several years, plus linear algebra and differential equations. I graduated from UC Berkeley with a bachelor's in math and a minor in physics. I was not always interested in math, but I was always interested in science. ... [more]

I graduated from Washington State University in May 2012 with a B.S. in Theoretical Mathematics and a minor in Physics. Going through this difficult process with a wife and two young children, I recognize the challenges modern families face. Since graduating, I have started helping friends and other students with their studies, and found I have quite a knack for breaking down complex ideas and making them easy to understand. I thoroughly enjoy teaching, and I can honestly say that tutoring... [more]

I am qualified to tutor in this subject because I tutored all levels of math while in high school (it was a requirement for both precalculus and AP calculus in high school) When I recently worked at a middle school, I tutored 6th, 7th and 8th grade students in math from Math 3 to Algebra 1. I am good at explaining math because it is logically intuitive to me. Algebra 2 is a step above Algebra 1 but I remember and understand the concepts. Hi, My name is Peter, I graduated from USC this past May with a degree in Psychology. I know what it feels like to struggle in a subject and end up hating [more]

I graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2012 with a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering. I have tutored a couple people in the past via a Craigslist ad that I posted, and thought I would see how using this site goes. I have some flexibility in my work schedule, and would like to tutor a couple nights per week, or on the weekend to bring in some extra cash. Algebra, Geometry, Trig, Pre-Calc (Pretty much just another name for Trig.), Calculus (Up to Multivariable; I would have to br... [more]

I have six years experience teaching high school math. Since staying home to raise my own children I have tutored half a dozen students in math -- half of these in Algebra 2. I have also spent the last three years substitute teaching preschool through high school. We have just moved back to Hawaii and I plan on going back to teaching high school math, but thought I would start substitute teaching and then I saw the advertisement for a tutor needed in Algebra 2 in Mililani which seemed perf...
