I completed college calculus and have tutored in every high school math available. My name is Steven and I am a double Major at the University of North Florida graduating in Fall 2017. I am almost finished with my degree in Biology and about a quarter way through my Computer Science track. I have spent 5 years teaching for a middle school after school program called the College Reach Out Program. This program is meant to gear students towards taking AP Human Geography courses in high school. A semester leading elementary students through the nature preserve at UNF educatin... [more]

Algebra II is the core math in the high school curriculum. Students need a thorough understanding to successfully complete College Algebra freshman year. I have experience with Algebra II, Algebra II Honors, and College Algebra so I can offer experience and perspective. My name is Carrie and I have 13 years of teaching experience at both the high school and college levels. I have a master's in math and can tutor most high schools subjects and college courses up to Calculus II. When tutoring, I want to work on conceptual understanding along with just being able to complete the problem. The [more]

I enjoy teaching and working with children. While I believe that all children can learn, they do so in their own ways and at their own pace. It is the tutor?s responsibility to ensure that the student(s) understand the material. It is important to show students how one idea builds on the last. I will help your child learn the material in his/her own way. I consider myself to be patient, non-judgmental, and knowledgeable of the subject matter. I truly believe all children can meet their potent... [more]

I tutor in algebra 2 often. I have a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and have taken up to and including calculus 4 in college. I've been tutoring for a little over 2 years since I was laid off from my job as a radio frequency engineer. I enjoy tutoring high school students on a weekly basis the most. I love seeing my students make dramatic improvements. I'm extremely patient and calming. I don't mind explaining basic math if a student is struggling with it. I can explain each problem in different ways so that the student can actually understand why certain steps are taken. My stud [more]

My first degree is a Bachelor of Science in Physics (Magna Cum Laude) with a Minor in Mathematics. I first had experience with Algebra 2 in 9th grade (I was an extra year ahead in math in school), and I was fortunate enough to help tutor it throughout high school and in college while at UNF. That teacher that you can't quite understand? The book that doesn't tell you enough of what you need to solve a problem? That's not me. I've been there. Late nights, coffee, office hours, the works. I was a student in the math program struggling to get my bachelor's degree. Then, I spent two more years going for my master's, meaning even longer nights, more coffee, and needing my own whiteboard. I was a [more]

Call me Nate. I have been teaching different things to many different types of people since I was 16 years old. I earned my Eagle Scout with the BSA after years of hard work. I am currently working my way through college while pursuing a Criminal Justice Degree. I have many different hobbies and interests. Including, but not limited to, camping, hiking, playing with my dog, hanging out with friends and playing board games. Yet, all of these activities pale in comparison to my greatest achi... [more]

This is probably the subject I have tutored most, as it is so common a requirement for students beginning their college courses. It's also one of the most important to master to be confident moving forward to the more advanced subjects, like Calculus and Differential Equations. A solid base in Algebra can mean the difference between a struggle to pass and an easy A. I recommend not letting one's skills in this area to be lacking in any way. I've been a private tutor for over 10 years. As an undergraduate at University of Central Florida (GO KNIGHTS!), I worked part-time as a tutor in t [more]

I have taken Pre-Algebra to Algebra 2, Precalculus to Calculus 3, along with higher courses as well. I really enjoy Algebra and Calculus. They are pretty much the basis of everything there is to know in the world of Mathematics. Mathematics is my passion. Anytime I get a chance, I use it. I plan on aiding others in math in my career as a math teacher. After teaching for some years, I plan on opening my own math learning center, so I can continue to do what I love. Three things I believe every tutor should have are patience, poise, and practice. Patience is key because, there will be times wher [more]
