Algebra 2 can sometimes take students by surprise as it ramps up the difficulty level above that of algebra 1. I focus on taking what students have already learned in algebra 1 and showing them that they are still applying the same concepts to this more difficult problem. Algebra has always been one of my favorite subjects to do and teach. There are always so many different ways to find the value of an unknown variable and I love that all of them always come to the same conclusion. My students always tell me that I am very good at breaking down a complex problem into small steps, and the proc [more]

I've been teaching in various forms over the past eight years, and nothing has been more meaningful and exciting for me than helping students grow as independent learners! As part of my teaching philosophy, I don't just give students the answers - I ask questions to help guide them towards the solution using the concepts they know and the information they're given in each problem. After students develop a strong foundation, I've found that they have greater confidence in their own abilities ... [more]

I have been a classroom instructor in this level of Algebra for twenty years. My skill set strength is explaining the algebra problem solving process in such a way that every student not only understands how but why and soon achieves mastery. I have a California K-12 Multiple Subject (any classroom, any subject) credential and a Kentucky P-5 Teaching Credential with a High School/Middle School Mathematics endorsement. During that time I was twice nominated for a Disney Golden Apple Award (excellence in teaching), served on the State Math Curriculum Committee, was a Master teacher in my Distr [more]

Hello, I am a UK student majoring in Mathematics. I am early in the phase of major studies, but have been asked by classmates in college Algebra to tutor them. My tutoring students have been very pleased with the attention that I provided. They were able to accomplish what they thought was not possible at the start. I really enjoy working with those who say that they dislike math. I have a very patient approach. I enjoy working one-on-one with students, giving them the attention that is nee... [more]

Most of my tutoring experience has been in math and physics courses that require a detailed knowledge of Algebra 2 concepts. As for my own education, I have taken through Calculus 4 (Differential Equations) and received an A in all math classes in both high school and college. Hello students and parents! My name is Kody and although I specialize in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) tutoring, I am well versed in and capable of tutoring a wide range of subjects.
